I hope this letter finds you rejoicing today. I have often spoken about different translations of the Bible leaving major parts out to agree with the authors personal views. The latest New International Version (NIV) has several glaring omissions and is not one I would suggest you read. There are many passages that are made gender neutral for instance, they changed Fathers discipline to Parents discipline.
What do you think of this verse: Luke 9:56, KJV READS:
Whereas the new NIV reads:
If that is not eye opening, this should be:
However, in the NIV this verse does not exist. If you would do a more extensive search on this matter, you can go to bible gateway and check this out for yourselves.
There is a foundation for every heresy, and this is one of those that started a long time ago. In American history, Thomas Jefferson created his own stripped-down version of the Bible that included only the life and teachings of Jesus (with most of the miracles removed). Depicting Jesus's teachings as a radical break from Judaism, Jefferson denounced the God of the Old Testament as "cruel, vindictive, capricious and unjust" and attacked the ethics of the Jews as "repulsive and anti-social." It is a well-known fact that what Jefferson did not believe to be true, he just cut those passages out. A real emphasis was text which spoke of the miraculous. You can find this quote in "Stockholm Syndrome Christianity" published by discovery institute press.
I thought it may a good time to share some of our, what many have called "Cleddie-isms." Enjoy!
Keep looking up, God is looking down!
