It Is Really Nice

It is really nice to be able to breathe the fresh air that God has provided for each of us today and to remember, "This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it."

Have I ever told you what Bennett Cerf said regarding things that are unbelievable? It is possible that you never heard of Bennett Alfred Cerf (born Benoît Cerf; May 25, 1898 -- August 27, 1971) he was an American writer, publisher, and co-founder of the American publishing firm Random House. Cerf was also known for his own compilations of jokes and puns, for regular personal appearances lecturing across the United States, and some may remember him, for his weekly television appearances for 16 years on the panel game show What's My Line? One of his most memorable lines which I remember is;

"I never saw a purple cow, I never hope to see one; but if there was a purple cow, I'd rather see than be one."

You know come to think about it, I have never seen a purple, green, orange, blue or chartreuse cow or even a horse. This could be a reference to his own doubt of things that cannot be scientifically explained. In recent days there has been what is an attack on those who believe in the supernatural. I for one have every reason to believe, that God is still at work in the earth and as Disney would say, "It's a Small World after all." Yes it is, and in the eyes of an All-Knowing God who never slumbers, sleeps, and in whom there is no variableness or shadow of turning; He is an on-time God. YES, He is.

Horace Bushnell, who was a theologian 200 years ago in America, wrote these words, "God has a definite life-plan for every human person, girding him, visibly and invisibly, for some exact thing, which it will be the true significance and glory of his life to have accomplished. On to live out such a life as God appoints, how great a thing it is! TO DO HIS DUTIES, make the sacrifices, bear the adversities, finish the plan and then to say with Christ (who of us will be able?), It Is Finished."

When my days ahead were longer than my days behind, I learned, "my reach should always exceed my grasp, or what is heaven for." All these years later, "My reach still exceeds my grasp." The Bible speaks of inheritance, in the book of Ephesians, at which we should take a new look.

Ephesians 1:11
In whom also WE HAVE OBTAINED OUR INHERITANCE, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Ephesians 1:14
Which is the earnest of OUR INHERITANCE until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 1:18
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what, is the hope of His calling and what the riches of the glory of HIS INHERITANCE in the saints,

Ephesians 5:5
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, HATH ANY INHERITANCE IN THE KINGDOM OF CHRIST AND OF GOD.

WHAT IS INHERITANCE? THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE IN CHRIST.

THE DEFINITION OF INHERITANCE IS:
Inheritance refers to the transfer of property, assets, debts, or titles from one person to another upon the original owner's death, usually within families. It can also mean the biological transmission of genetic traits from parents to offspring, or the reception of characteristics/traditions from ancestors.

THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN PROMISED IN CHRIST.

GOD SAID IT, I BELIEVE IT AND THAT SETTLES IT.
