Blessings of an Encourager

The Blessings of an Encourager

I spent some time visiting 2 Timothy this week and was encouraged by chapter one. Here is where I started and you can join me as I read a portion of his letter. Let's listen to Paul as he passes on what God has imparted into his life:

"Dear Timothy, you are my son in everything that grace, mercy and peace communicate. This life has only one reference God is our Father and Jesus is our Master the Christ-Life rules.

I love the constant thought of our union in in Christ 24/7. Prayer is such a permanent thing when we discover grace echo in our worship. Our conscience celebrates ‘pre-creation innocence before God.

I rejoice in the pure faith that I see in you. Remember that you are the third generation of a strong lineage of faith. The same unwavering persuasion, that has in-dwelt your grandmother Lois, also resides in your mother Eunice and now abides in you.

This gives me all the more reason to remind you to FAN THE FLAME OF GOD'S GRACE GIFT WITHIN YOU INTO A BLAZING HOT FLAME. YOUR LIFE MIRRORS MINE; I ENDORSED THE GIFT OF GOD'S BOLDNESS WITHIN WHEN LAID MY HANDS ON YOU.

BECOME FULLY ACQUAINTED WITH THIS GIFT WITHIN YOU. THERE IS NOTHING TIMID ABOUT A MIND LIBERATED IN THE SPIRIT OF LOVE IS FEARLESS AND UNSTOPPABLE."

Paul goes on to say, "He rescued the integrity of our authentic identity and revealed that we have always been His own from the beginning even before time was."

In this chapter Paul is what I would call vulnerable and it shows us how important people were to him. I have always realized the importance of being an encourager. However, it is important to know, that none of us are in the battle by ourselves, we need each other.

I read one time of a fire in an apartment building where a fire fighter had climb as far as he could up to save a person trapped in a burning room. The fireman had gone almost as far up the ladder as it appeared he could go. The Fire Chief on the ground seeing the predicament on the ground began to cry out, CHEER HIM ON

BOYS, CHEER HIM ON and the people on the ground began to cheer and the man was saved, all it took was for those on the ground to give him a little more encouragement.

Today, I want each of you to know that in reading this letter, I believe in you as you fight the good fight of faith. It is a good fight because it is a fixed fight, and it is a fixed fight, because we win. WE WIN, WE WIN, HALLELUJAH !!! WE WIN, I READ THE BACK OF THE BOOK AND WE WIN.

KEEP ON KEEPING ON,

Pastor Cleddie
