For those who do not know, this is computer jargon. Today, my phone is broken-hearted because I ignore the constant request to welcome my upgrade. I have been told that if I do that they will be able to tell if I am 6 ft. from the person next to me who also has a cell phone. That is concerning because what I have read about BIG BROTHER makes me think I am living in a re-run of the 1960’s T.V. series, A MAN FROM UNCLE. Do you think maybe we need an upgrade?
God had this in mind long before man discovered the internet highway. Where do you think we may need an upgrade, and where would we start?
We are living in a moment in time when it appears the enemy has magnified himself. This, however, is not the first or the last time this happened. Lamentations 1:9 (KJV), “Her filthiness is in her skirts; she remembers not her last end; therefore she came down wonderfully: she had no comforter. O Lord, behold my affliction: for the enemy hath magnified himself.”
To magnify something is to make it bigger than it appears or really is. Tell me what it sounds like when the whole world is magnifying the issues of today? Does it sound like peace? I don’t think so. This is where we change the narrative by magnifying God with our praise and worship. David still leads us in this: “O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together”, Psalm 34:3. The truth is that we could never make God bigger than He is.
There are a couple of things we need to do in light of what is happening in the world around us. We need an upgrade in who we think is fighting the battle for us as we enter a brand new day. When you realize He knows the end from the beginning, then you know that He also knows all that is in between.
I sometimes need an upgrade when it comes to reminding myself, “All things work together for good, to them who love God and are called according to His purpose.” I believe in you!
