Keep Pressing On

Have you ever noticed that Joseph and Mary were so poor that the required sacrifice they brought when they presented their son to the Lord for purification was a dove? (Luke 2:22-24) They were so poor a dove was all they could afford to bring. They were not able to bring a lamb to be a burnt offering but what they did not know, was they had brought the spotless lamb who, would be crucified to redeem those made under the law, for they were under it.

In the LEVITICAL LAWS OF MOTHERHOOD, a new mother was considered unclean for 7 days. She was not to touch anything unclean or come to the sanctuary during this time until she was purified. The woman was to offer her dove before the Lord to cleanse her from her ISSUE OF BLOOD. The book of Leviticus chapter 15, gives us insight into issues of blood. They were instructed that they were responsible to keep the people of Israel separate that which would make them unclean.

I recommend you read this out loud, Leviticus 15:21, "In case they die of their unclean condition by defiling my Dwelling which is among them." To have an issue of blood was a serious thing and whatever they may have touched it was immediately unclean.

The Woman in Luke 8:43, had an issue of blood for twelve years, twelve long years and to make matters worse she had spent all her living on physicians, and could not be healed by any of them. Now we know what her lot in life was and we are left to wonder if this had happened as the result of a miscarriage or it was just an issue that was a physical problem. In any case she had an issue and was NOT A QUITTER, "She came behind Him and touched the border of His garment and immediately the issue of blood ceased."

The rules and regulations did not keep her from touching him. It may be a good thing to refuse to quit as we continue on our journey of Fasting and Prayer in 2021, this woman is a wonderful example to us all. She pressed in past rules and regulations, through a crowd that played by those rules and regulations and would have stoned her if they had realized what she was doing.

I have found in seasons of fasting and prayer that quit is not an option. My greatest issue has always been the issues of my heart, "Keep the heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life." Proverbs 4:23
