Greetings to all our Church Family and Dear Friends, I have you on my heart daily. Our prayers are on heaven's altar for you and your families. This has been a historic week in the history of our Nation. I know that many people are overwhelmed with worry about what will take place in our country during the next four years; but our hope is in God, our Father.
Corrie ten Boom said, "Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, it empties today of its strength." Have you ever considered the mother heart of God? Jesus exemplified it best when he prayed over Jerusalem in Matthew 23:37 (TPT).
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem—you are the city that murders your prophets! You are the city that stones the very messengers who were sent to deliver you! So many times I have longed to gather a wayward people, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings—but you were too stubborn to let me."
I have recognized the aspect of God's nature throughout my walk of faith. Mothers have a way of comforting us like no one else can. Solomon said it this way, "She watches over the ways of her household and meets every need they have."
I read about a boy that wanted to collect from his mother for all he did around the house and for her:
One morning at breakfast, a mother found under her place mat a bill made out by her 8 year old son, Bradley—Mother owes Bradley for:
running errands- 25 cents
being good- 10 cents
taking music lessons- 15 cents
extras- 5 cents.
Total: 55 cents.
The mother smiled, but made no comment. At lunch Bradley found the bill under his plate with 55 cents and another piece of paper neatly folded like the first. Opening it he read— Bradley owes Mother for:
nursing him through scarlet fever- nothing
being good to him- nothing
clothes, shoes and playthings- nothing
his playroom- nothing
his meals- NOTHING.
This is a good example of the mother heart of God. We love Him for all He has done for us and we show this in our love for Him. Jesus asked "Peter, do you love me?" Peter answered, "Lord, you know I love you." Jesus then said, "Peter feed my sheep."
This is a mother: PROVERBS 14:1 "The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands."
I have never known a Christian mother who gave up on her children. That is the persistence of the mother heart of God.
