Grace and Peace, today is my prayer for you and yours.
I felt like I should share with you this week our notes from our Wednesday Night Faith Clinic. You may have never tuned in but we do a mid-week teaching each Wednesday Night and these are the notes from March 9,2022.
THE BIBLE
What is your relationship with your Bible?
The study of God’s word is the pathway to daily victory.
The study of God’s word is like sharpening a weapon for war.
The study of God’s word is the pathway, which transforms you from the natural mindset,
To a supernatural mindset.
The study of God’s word, is God’s tool for equipping believers for battle.
The study of truth is one thing living truth is to choose freedom.
Let me illustrate this for you,
“How many times have you heard,
You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free?”
John 8:31,32
King James Version
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews, which believed on him, if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
PHILLIPS TRANSLATION
“So, Jesus said to the Jews who believed in him, “If you are faithful to what I have said, you are truly my disciples. And you will (know) the truth and the truth will set you free!”
Then Jesus turned to the Jews who had claimed to believe in him.
“If you stick with this, living out what I tell you, you are my disciples for sure.
Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you.”
Today, people want authority without responsibility… they want privilege without obedience
Charles Spurgeon the great London preacher said this about the BIBLE.
THE BIBLE HAS:
Wrestled With Me
Smitten Me
Confronted Me
Smiled On Me
Frowned On Me
Clasped My Hand
Warmed Me
Wept With Me
Sung To Me
Worshiped With Me
Preached To Me
I Was Thinking About This and Then I Realized Somethings The Bible Has Done In Me:
The Bible Has Fed Me
The Bible Has Directed Me
The Bible Has Restrained Me
The Bible Has Measured Me
The Bible Has Encouraged Me
He Bible Has Comforted Me
The Bible Has Convicted Me
The Bible Has Challenged Me
The Bible Has Cut Into Me;
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Let’s take a look at prayer:
What is the prayer of faith?
What can it produce?
James 5
“15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availed much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.”
What can prayers of unbelief produce?
What can prayers of doubt produce?
Can you pray scripturally out of head knowledge and not out of the heart?
1st Chronicles 17:22
“22 For thy people Israel didst thou make thine own people for ever; and thou, Lord, becamest their God.
23 Therefore now, Lord, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established forever, and do as thou hast said.
24 Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified forever, saying, The Lord of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy servant be established before thee.
25 For thou, O my God, hast told thy servant that thou wilt build him a house
: therefore, thy servant hath found in his heart to pray before thee.
26 And now, Lord, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:
27 Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee forever: for You blesse, O Lord, and it shall be blessed forever.”
Nathan, the prophet told David, God was going to build his house. David went into prayer with what the prophet spoke to him and prayed it back to God.
He found in his heart what to pray and how to pray. How did he get it in his heart? Nathan the prophet spoke God’s Word and promises to David. Spending time with God in His Word and in worship positions us for God to speak to our hearts. This enables us to pray from the heart passionate and powerful prayers.
Knowing about God and knowing God are two different things.
Hearing His voice, Him speaking to our heart produces a living faith in our hearts that assures us of answered prayers
My friend, Randy Dugas says it best: HEAD PRAYING IS DEAD PRAYING.
