Saved To The Uttermost

Hello Neighbor,

I have good news for you today and it is something you can share with your family and friends. You can find what I am writing in this letter within the book of Hebrews as my point of reference.

Therefore, He is able also to save forever (completely, perfectly, for eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede and intervene on their behalf [with God].” Hebrews 7:25 (AMP)

In other translations it will say, “Wherefore He is able to save them to the uttermost that come to God by Him.” I love the ring of the word uttermost but in today’s world it needs some explaining. That is why I used the Amplified Translation in our letter to you. In chapter 7 the writer is making a contrast between the Priesthood of Jesus with the Levitical Priesthood. In so doing he presents to the reader, the superiority of Jesus Priesthood and Christianity with Judaism. I think it would be easy to see the difference of our High Priest at the Father’s Right Hand and a Priest in the Temple in Jerusalem. Did you notice in his context the word, wherefore? It states that Jesus Priesthood last forever:

Hebrews 7: For it is attested [by God] of Him, “You(Christ)are a Priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.” It is because of this He can save us from the guilt of all of our sins. He is able to save us from the punishment of all of our sins, WE ARE REMINDED THAT IT IS WAS NOT A DAILY SACRIFICE, FOR JESUS DID IT ONCE AND FOR ALL, WHEN HE OFFERED UP HIMSELF. (Verse 27) It is through His substitution for us, our sins are ever forgiven, and they are ever forgotten. We are not just forgiven from the consequence of sins but, Praise God, we are delivered from the power of sin as well.

Once again, what does uttermost mean? Is there anything in your mind that can reach beyond the uttermost? The Old Testament Priest could only do so much, and they had to do it over and over and over. Jesus offered Himself for us not just the blood of bulls and goats. He was what is called today, the “GOAT”, The GREATEST OALL TIME. This is why we read, “WE CAN COME TO GOD BY HIM”, HALLELUJAH!!!

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I KEEP COMING TO GOD, BECAUSE I HAVE READ, HEBREWS 7:25

HE EVER LIVES TO MAKE INTERCESSION FOR US.”

WE CAN REJOICE TODAY FOR, “HE IS WORKING IN US BOTH TO WILL AND DO OF HIS OWN GOOD PLEASURE”.

IN HIM, WE ARE YOURS,

Pastor Cleddie and GayNell Keith
