Cheer up you saints of God, There's nothing to worry about, Nothing to make you feel afraid, Nothing to make you doubt. Remember Jesus Never fails, So why not trust Him and shout. You'll be sorry you worried at all, Tomorrow morning!!!
I want to call your attention to Jeremiah chapter 30 in our weekly letter, it speaks of the TIME OF JACOBS TROUBLE AND IT IS ONLY APPROPRIATE FOR JEREMIAH THE WEEPING PROPHET TO be the pen man God uses for a chapter of this magnitude.
HERE IS WHAT CHARLES SPURGEON SAID ABOUT THIS CHAPTER AND THE TRANSITION WHICH CAME INTO JEREMIAH'S LIFE:
"Think no more of Jeremiah as exclusively the weeping prophet; for the flashes of his delight make the night of his sorrow brilliant with an aurora of heavenly brilliance."
(Jeremiah 30:1-3) Write these words in a book.
1"The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, 2"Thus speaks the LORD God of Israel, saying:
Notice it was a book for Jeremiah.
"Write in a book for yourself all the words that I have spoken to you. 3 For behold, the days are coming,' says the LORD, ‘that I will bring back from captivity My people Israel and Judah,' says the LORD. ‘And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it."
THEN I WANT TO PICK THIS UP AGAIN IN VERSE 10, WHERE YOU WILL GET SOME UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT IS GOING ON AND HOW THE PUNISHMENT EQUALS THE CRIME.
10 Therefore fear not, O My servant Jacob, says the Lord, nor be dismayed or cast down, O Israel; for behold, I will save you out of a distant land [of exile] and your posterity from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return and will be quiet and at ease, and none will make him afraid or cause him to be terrorized and to tremble. 11 For I am with you, says the Lord, to save you; for I will make a full and complete end of all the nations to which I have scattered you, but I will not make a full and complete end of you. But I will correct you in measure and with judgment and will in no sense hold you guiltless or leave you unpunished. 12 For thus says the Lord: Your hurt is incurable, and your wound is grievous. 13 There is none to plead your cause; for [the pressing together of] your wound you have no healing [device], no binding plaster.
NO ONE TO PLEAD OUR CAUSE, NO MEDICINE FOR YOUR WOUNDS, NO HEALING FOR YOUR SICKNESS.
There is:
NO ONE TO PLEAD YOUR CAUSE:
(JESUS IS OUR INTERCESSOR, OUR ADVOCATE, OUR ATTORNEY).
NO MEDICINE FOR YOUR WOUNDS:
(HE IS THE BALM OF GILEAD, THE ONE WOUNDED FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS)
HE HEALETH THE BROKEN HEARTED AND BINDETH UP THEIR WOUNDS.)
NO HEALING FOR YOU:
(BY HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED, THERE IS A BALM IN GILEAD.)
14 All your lovers (allies) have forgotten you; they neither seek, inquire of, or require you. For I have hurt you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel and merciless foe, because of the greatness of your perversity and guilt, because your sins are glaring and innumerable. 15 Why do you cry out because of your hurt [the natural result of your sins]? Your pain is deadly (incurable). Because of the greatness of your perversity and guilt, because your sins are glaring and innumerable, I have done these things to you. 16 Therefore all who devour you will be devoured; and all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity. And they who despoil you will become a spoil, and all who prey upon you will I give for a prey.
WEEPING MAY ENDURE FOR THE NIGHT (BUT) JOY COMES IN THE MORNING!
A merry heart doeth good, like a MEDICINE, but a BROKEN SPIRIT DRIES THE BONES. Proverbs 17:22
THIS PAST SUNDAY I SPOKE ON THIS SCRIPTURE AND AS I READ THE LONG LIST OF WORDS THAT CAN BE USED FOR THE OPPOSITE OF A MERRY HEART, IT SEEMED TO SUCK THE OXYGEN RIGHT OUT OF THE ROOM.
THE NEXT TIME YOU ARE HAVING A DOWN DAY, READ THE LIST BELOW WHILE LOOKING IN A MIRROR.
You may ask, why would I want to do this? Once you do this, then read the synonyms of a MERRY HEART. YOU WILL SEE WHAT GOD HAS SAID ABOUT YOU. ONCE YOU HAVE SEEN WHAT HE HAS SAID, THEN YOU CAN SAY WHAT HE SAID, AND THE PROMISE IS MORE THAN EQUAL TO THE PROBLEM.
AS IN A MIRROR, HEART ANSWERS HEART. THE REFLECTION OF OUR HEARTS TELLS US WHERE WE ARE SPIRITUALLY.
Opposite of cheerful and lively in nature or atmosphere: gloomy, miserable, sad, dejected, dismal, unhappy, depressed, disagreeable, grave, serious, solemn, sorrowful, tragic, unfunny, unpleasant, upset, down in the dumps, despondent, downcast, disconsolate, melancholy, glum, downhearted, forlorn, down, blue, crestfallen, doleful, wretched, mournful, woebegone, low, dispirited, morose, woeful, heartbroken, melancholic, desolate, joyless, inconsolable, disheartened, saddened, discouraged, cheerless, heartsick, sorry, heartsore, droopy, hangdog, bad, bleak, dolorous, demoralized, disappointed, crushed, moody, abject, spiritless, choked, dragged, hurting, mopey, tearful, broody, oppressed, dashed, shamefaced, low-spirited, cast down, heavy-hearted, broken-hearted, fed up, chap-fallen, weighed down, long-faced, somber, sullen, lugubrious, dreary, depressing, dragged, dour, mirthless, humorless, saturnine, black, saddening, depressant, heavy, sunk in gloom, (Not giving or feeling any pleasure or satisfaction), drab, dispiriting, austere, uninviting, inhospitable, unwelcoming, stark, dire, dark, morbid, cold, (Lacking in spirit, energy or enthusiasm), insipid, spiritless, lackluster, flat, lifeless, weak, lethargic, soulless, torpid, listless, sluggish, lukewarm, wooden, emotionless, bloodless, tame, pathetic, stiff, sterile, zestless, mechanical, slothful, anemic, limp, subdued, tired, weariful, half-hearted, wishy-washy, lacking charisma, lacking personality, lacking vitality, (hostile or disagreeable in mood or manner), foul, mean, aggressive, antagonistic, belligerent, malicious, rude, spiteful, surly, uncharitable, unfriendly, cantankerous, combative, confrontational, inconsiderate, inhospitable, malignant, obnoxious, pugnacious, rotten, unkind, vicious, vindictive, wrathful, abusive, angry, bitter, catty, cruel, hateful, hurtful, malign, militant, rancorous, uncongenial, unsociable, unsympathetic, vile, wretched, filthy, furious, poisonous, scrappy, sour, venomous, viperous, wounding, bad-tempered, ill-humored, ill-natured, ill-tempered, mean-spirited, evil-minded, lacking fun.
DO YOU REMEMBER KENNY PRICE FROM "HE HAW"? KENNY'S FAMILY ATTENDED HERITAGE BACK IN THE EARLY 80'S. ONE DAY I RAN IN TO HIM AT THE MALL, WE HAD A TALK AND HE TOLD ME ABOUT A SONG HE WROTE ONE DAY WHEN HE WAS FLYING BACK TO NASHVILLE FROM THE CINCINNATI AIRPORT.
Happy Tracks (1967)
Well, I know you've heard people say many, many times,
You don't pass through this but once. You'll get yours and I'll get mine
But I got a philosophy I believe I'd rather go by.
And if you just listen you may want to give it a try.
Leave a lot of happy tracks as you go down life's road.
Leave a lot of happy tracks everywhere you go.
Leave a lot of happy tracks and keep this in mind.
Others will have to follow in the path you leave behind.
As you walk through the tangled streets of life, notice your fellow man.
And when he gets in trouble, you just lend him a helping hand.
Sew good seeds in the field of life as you go along.
Let others reap your happiness, a long time after you're gone.
Leave a lot of happy tracks as you go down life's road.
Leave a lot of happy tracks everywhere you go.
Leave a lot of happy tracks and keep this in mind.
Others will have to follow in the path you leave behind.
Don't ever use a good friend for a personal gain.
To gain wealth and lose one friend would only be in vain.
Let your happy tracks be many, leave them everywhere you go.
Others will have to harvest each and every seed you sew.
Leave a lot of happy tracks as you go down life's road.
Leave a lot of happy tracks everywhere you go.
Leave a lot of happy tracks and keep this in mind.
Others will have to follow in the path you leave behind.
It was just two weeks later that Kenny passed away. His friends came from the cast of He Haw and they expressed their love for a Bigger Than Life Man named Kenny Price.
"A BROKEN SPIRIT DRIETH THE BONES!!!"
I GET DEPRESSED JUST READING THAT LAUNDRY LIST OF ANTONYMS.
IN 1ST SAMUEL CHAPTER 30 WE FIND DAVID. NOT DAVID THE GIANT KILLER, NOT THE SWEET PSALMIST OF ISRAEL, NOT THE LOVER, BUT DAVID IN ANGUISH BECAUSE THE AMALAKITES HAVE RAIDED THE HOMES OF ZIKLAG, BURNED IT TO THE GROUND, TAKEN CAPTIVE THEIR FAMILIES AND CARRIED THEM AWAY.
WE HAVE SEEN THAT PLAYED OUT IN MODERN DAY ISRAEL; IN THE RAIDS ON GAZA, WITH THE HOSTAGES THAT ARE STILL BEING HELD BY THE HAMAS.
DAVID AND HIS MEN OF WAR LIFTED UP THEIR VOICES AND WEPT UNTIL THEY HAD NO MORE POWER TO WEEP.
READ IT OUT LOUD, REAL LOUD:
6 AND DAVID WAS GREATLY DISTRESSED;
for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters:
BUT DAVID ENCOURAGED HIMSELF IN THE LORD HIS GOD.
Philippians 2:14-16 The Message Translation
"Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving Message into the night so I'll have good cause to be proud of you on the day that Christ returns. You'll be living proof that I didn't go to all this work for nothing."
I WANT YOU TO BE AS HAPPY AS A DOG WITH TWO TAILS
As you read this list make up your mind, which mood you choose:
Happy, blissful, cheerful, cheery, buoyant, buoyed, delighted, elated, glad, jubilant, contented, euphoric, exuberant, gleeful, rejoicing, vivacious, ecstatic, festive, merry, rapt, sunny, uproarious, chuffed, cordial, paradisiacal, satisfied, sunshiny, chipper, enraptured, gratified, jocund, paradisiac, rhapsodic, upbeat, content, gladdened, joyous, thrilled, chirpy, friendly, rapturous, stoked, beaming, blithesome, gladsome, jovial, effervescent, exhilarated, gay, jolly, thankful, bright, delightful, joyful, overjoyed, smiley, flying high, floating on air, in good spirits, in high spirits, in seventh heaven, jumping for joy, on a high, on cloud nine, over the moon, as happy as Larry, as pleased as punch, in a good mood, on top of the world!
What is the opposite of "on top of the world"?
Antonyms for on top of the world include: dejected, depressed, sad, despondent, gloomy, miserable, downcast, unhappy...
I WOULD RATHER BE A SHOUTER THAN A POUTER OR A DOUBTER
HAVE A GOOD DAY IN JESUS NAME.
