The Trumpet Call

IS THE TRUMPET CALL SOMETHING YOU HAVE HEARD IN YOUR LIFE?

EVEN BETTER IS THE TUMPET DAILY RINGING IN YOUR EARS?

HERE IS THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER:
"Everyone outside of Christ is a mission field. Everyone, in Christ should be a missionary."

SOULS ARE PRECIOUS IN THAT CHRIST DIED TO REDEEM THEM AND HIS BLOOD IS PRECIOUS BECAUSE HIS BLOOD WAS THE PRICE TO BE PAID.

Have you ever thought about the children of Israel on the edge of the promise land? Can you rehearse in your mind how they crossed the Jordan and into Canaan? When they did it, it took warfare to enter, to conquer, and to possess the land of promise. Do you recognize this as a type of passage to the battlefield? In the first chapter of the book, you find there is a human leader who is chosen by the Lord, and we see one campaign after another. Have you ever thought about why we call outreaches campaigns?

Maybe you will agree with me in what Sherwood Wirt said along these lines:

"When social action is mistaken for evangelism, the church has ceased to manufacture its own blood cells and is dying of leukemia." The Social Conscience of the Evangelical. p 129

I love what Billy Graham had to say about this matter:

"The Evangelistic Harvest is always urgent. The destiny of men and of nations is always being decided. Every generation is strategic. We are not responsible for the past generation, and we cannot bear the full responsibility for the next one; but we do have our generation. God will hold us responsible as to how well we fulfill our responsibilities to this age and take advantage of our opportunities."  (Just As I Am: The Autobiography of Billy) Graham

"The gospel is not something we go to church to hear; it is something we go from church to tell."

I recently read a statement that gripped my heart. It calls me to attention and knowing you are conscientious believers as well, I will just add, "if the shoe fits, we must wear it."

"How shall I feel at the judgment, if multitudes of missed opportunities pass before me in full review and all my excuses prove to be disguises of my cowardice and pride?" – Dr. Sangster

Are we not encouraged to be "bold as lions and harmless as doves?"

"The best remedy for a sick church is to put it on a missionary diet."

Over the past few months there has been a steady stream of teams and individuals going and coming in and out of our pulpit and their messages have been a clarion call (trumpet call) to all of our hearts indicating a need for a greater passion for souls.

The blood of the beautiful young couple who were martyred in Haiti last week, were the cousins of the Bakers who we love and appreciate their ministry in Columbus, Ohio. Their blood is crying out for others to follow. (The blood of the Martyr's is the seed of the Church.)  It is what Gary Klein says,

"Say not, 'how can I go?' but rather say, 'How can I stay?'"

Have you ever noticed; Joshua is really the Old Testament word for Jesus? Joshua/Jesus is Chosen to lead Israel into Canaan. Do you remember he was commanded to be strong? His only equipment was the Word of God. It is said of Jesus, "His meat was to do the will of His Heavenly Father." Have you ever read the Joshua was to, "Cause this people to inherit the land."

Considering that there is no war in Heaven, there is no sin there as well. I would rather think it was the STAGE OF THE CHRISTIAN LIFE.

The Real Story of Missionaries was played out in Haiti in the last few days. Maybe you have heard what took place:

Thursday's killings of Davy and Natalie Lloyd, and Jude Montis, the local director of a mission group, Missions in Haiti Inc., happened in the community of Lizon in northern Port-au-Prince.  They were leaving a youth group activity at a church; a family member told The Associated Press.

Natalie Lloyd is the daughter of Missouri state Rep. Ben Baker. They were cousins of Jim and MaryAnn Baker in Columbus, OH.

The couple, along with some children, were leaving a church when gang members in three trucks ambushed them. They were robbed and Davy was tied up. As they were escaping, more gang violence broke out. The couple and Montis fled to a house connected to the mission. "They tried to take cover in there, but the gang shot up the house" and the three were killed.

Yours for Souls,

Set the trumpet to your mouth!
