One day a year is not enough to offer Thanksgiving to God for all He has done for me, so I am going to express my gratitude in two letters this week and next. Have you ever stopped and just for a few minutes just poured out your heart to God for all His blessings He has blessed you with?
One of my favorite singers and songwriter's is Andre Crouch, who wrote a song that often goes through my mind, as though the Holy Spirit has dropped a coin in the jukebox of my mind. I love it when He does this, and it is as though these melodies remove any friction between my will and His.
How can I say thanks?
For the things, You have done for me?
Things so undeserved,
Yet, You gave to prove Your love for me.
The voices of a million angels
Could not express my gratitude
All that I am and ever hope to be
I owe it all to Thee.
To God be the glory
To God be the glory
To God be the glory
For the things He has done.
With His blood He has saved me
With His power He has raised me.
To God be the glory
For the things He has done.
Oh, just let me live my life
Let it be pleasing, Lord to Thee
And if I gain any praise
Let it go to Calvary.
Oh, with His blood (His blood) He has saved me (He has saved me)
With His power (His power) He has raised me (He has raised me)
To God (to God) be the glory (glory)
For the things He has done.
Yes, TO GOD BE THE GLORY TODAY
And as we approach THANKSGIVING WEEK, would it be a good thing to express our gratitude for the multitude of blessings He has sent your way? Here is something that I have learned; the more I am thankful, the more I realize I have to be thankful for. As I get older, I have a lifetime to be thankful for, so it is a choice to be full of thankfulness. Thanks-living becomes a contagious lifestyle that can affect the people around you.
Occasionally I find myself praying about a matter in my sub conscious, when all of a sudden I realize, God's got this, and I will began to thank Him, knowing the answer is already on the way. I call this LEANING ON THE EVERLASTING ARM'S.
Yes, God has a way of making a path in life that you cannot see and no one else can see either. It is a path no one knows is there. David the Psalmist knew the GOD THAT KNOW ONE KNEW WAS THERE and it was his lifestyle of thanksgiving that opened the door to that reality. David made his blessings count and I think we should in retribution do the very same. It makes sense to make our thanksgiving perpetual. Let me ask you a question today for you to think about, "Is your cup empty or full?" If it is empty, stop for a moment and just thank God you even have a cup in the first place.
Psalm 34:10 KJV
Psalm 26:7
I am just priming your pump of praise today for the rest of the year with a smile on my face, because I know Him who is in control, and I just can't stop praising the Lord.
I am a two-legged agent of Thanksgiving, that can't stop praising the Lord.
