Fasting, Prayer, & Healing

For many years we have conducted HEALING SERVICES at the end of our 21 DAY FAST AT 3:00 PM for several reasons:

  1. People who are sick, find it difficult to get out of bed and drive to church until the afternoon.
  2. It is our desire to make it easier for those who are not feeling well to attend the service as the day has warmed up, especially in the winter months.
  3. When people are sick it is not unlikely, they will have to arrange for friends are family to assist them, in preparing to come to the service.
  4. Often, we have had some who have come that prefer to be taken to the Prayer Room for Healing Ministry and prayer.
  5. Depending on the nature and the severity of the sickness, some have come in chairs and have had to be carried into the building. It is our desire to be as accommodating as we possibly can and to minimize any unnecessary embarrassment.

MANY HAVE BEEN FASTING WITH US, SO WE WANT YOU TO JOIN WITH US IN CORPORATE PRAYER FOR THOSE WHO ARE DEALING WITH PHYSICAL NEEDS AT THIS TIME. It will be a blessing for you to plan to be with us for the HEALING SERVICE, JANUARY 26TH AT 3:00 pm.

You don't need anyone to tell you who you are, when you know who you are. So let me remind you who you are lest you forget. Fasting helps us remember who we are in Christ and what our mission is as a brand-new creature in Christ Jesus.

  • You are an heir, a joint heir with Jesus.
  • I'm washed and I'm forgiven,
  • I'm whole and I'm healed.
  • I'm cleansed and I'm glory bound.
  • I am only a sojourner on the earth.
  • I am but a pilgrim on this planet, on my way to perfection.

Once again, I don't need anybody to tell me who I am, because I know who I am.

  • I am a child of the King, a son (or daughter) of God, born again through Jesus Christ, bought with the price of His blood.
  • I am a new creation, totally new, thoroughly loved and completely accepted as a child of my Father, precious in His sight."

THIS IS MY CONFESSION OF FAITH DURING MY FAST, KNOWING THAT I LIVE UNDER AN OPEN HEAVEN, WITH A GOD CONCIOUSNESS. FASTING IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF CHRISTIAN DISCIPLINE IN THAT:

"Desire is craving enough to sacrifice for". WHEN WE ARE FASTING, WE ARE MAKING A VOW TO GOD, IT'S LIKE THIS: a vow is a binding commitment to begin doing something now and to fulfill the vow. IT IS AN ACT OF DISCIPLINE, WHICH HELPS EMPTY US OF MANY CARNAL CHOICES. GOD FIRST.

I think it is interesting that when we fast, the physical benefit is to detox our bodies of impurities and not only chemical impurities but also spiritual, empowering us to detoxify our spiritual man.

The scripture teaches us, "The Spirit is willing, but the Flesh is weak."

I have observed over 60 years that when we fast, "the flesh is still weak, but my Spirit man is more focused, sensitive, tuned in, keen, on point, aware of His voice, tender, in alignment and quicker to respond, with eyes wide open. It is my desire to live under an open heaven.

Remember it is Prayer and FASTING, which God has called us to.

SINCERELY,

PASTOR CLEDDIE
