Reaching out to you once again and suggesting, in that God is searching and seeking for those who will stand in the gap and make up the hedge. A Divine encounter is in the making. Are you aware of the fact that God tells us the kind of person He manifests Himself to? Are you this kind of person that God has in His cross hairs? John 14:21 gives to us a 12x14 frame that makes it easier for us to see:
"I will reveal Myself to him; I will make Myself known to him; I will show Myself to him." Who is it God is speaking about? To "those who love me" and I will make Myself plain to him." Could I suggest that God can visit us, and we can fail to recognize Him? We read about a man wrestling with Him who failed to realize who he was wrestling with, until he had exhausted his physical strength. Of course, you know that was Jacob, and his visitation left him with a limp that he was never able to forget. When he was old, he worshipped the Lord leaning upon his staff.
In Luke 24:13 we find two of Jesus hand chosen men. They were down in the mouth; being in mourning their memory was clouded. I think it is wonderful that they did not recognize Him but when He broke the bread, they realized who it was that was with them. Have you ever had a visitation from Him when you received the communion? I have. In Wakefield, England in the church where Smith Wigglesworth passed away. We were conducting a conference in the Saint George Hall in Bradford, England and during Communion God spoke to me. He told me, "I am going to tell you why Wigglesworth received the sweet bread of the soul every day." This was fifteen years before I had read that this was his daily practice. I thought, if it worked for him, it might help me as well, so I took Communion every day for that year. I did not see any difference, but I know it did no harm one way or the other. The circumstance when this happened was unique, in that we had teams ministering in different churches across the Yorkshire region. One of the teams finished their meeting in Peter Morris's church. Peter is Evangelist Nathan Morris's father. He has pastored the Father's House Church located in the Wath Valley. Our team knew that we would still be going on with our meeting, so they came and interrupted our service. To accommodate them we had to have a brief intermission for them to get situated.
At that point, I walked out into the midst of the crowd as they were settling in and when I did, God spoke to me and told me, "I'm going to tell me why Wigglesworth, the Apostle of Faith, took communion every day."
HE WANTED TO LIVE UNDER AN OPEN HEAVEN!!!
To this day, I lead our congregation in what I call a Pilgrim's Meal, almost every time we come together for worship. In doing this, I HAVE A PERSONAL REVIVAL each time I break the bread and drink the cup. When we do, heaven opens over me. Ladies and Gentlemen, have you ever realized that ultimately Jesus wants to be wanted? This is why we cry out for a visitation. He who is faithful and true, is not unfaithful to respond to what Paul calls, bowels of mercy. Only God knows what He has done as He responds to the deep intercessions of His people through the ages.
I believe in you, and I know He listens to our prayers because He invites us to ask Him to visit us.
Remember the lame man in the book of Acts, looked on Peter and John with expectation.
