From time to time I am reminded of this poem, it is a staple, a faith fact to hold on to, to cling to, and to bank on in times of testing and trial. It is what you stand on in dark days knowing God can be trusted and not just your feelings.
The other day Mike Dennigan, on one of our Faith Clinic programs, brought this poem back to my memory, written in December 1914 by E.W. Kenyon, On the Ground of the Blood Covenant.
Yesterday's healing evangelist were very familiar with this poem. Their confidence was in nothing less than Jesus Blood and Righteousness, as many would sing. They would not trust the darkest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus Name. In the past, you could go into homes of believers and often find scriptures written and taped on refrigerators or on bathroom mirrors. This would be a good poem to use for this purpose.
The blood covenant was God's idea and the basis for our victory as we walk with the Lord. When we come to Him on the ground of Covenant it is a proven basis on which we can expect triumph over sin, sickness and disease. I cannot trust anything less than the gold standard of faith, which is the shedding of Blood when it come to our Redemption:
It is imperative to note that it is, "the blood of the everlasting covenant". The way in which God chose to reveal Himself to man was through Covenant and for several days now I have had BLOOD COVENANT, on my mind.
It is not wise to overlook the consequences of breaking covenant with Almighty God. In the Old Testament or Old Covenant, you will discover what the results of breaking covenant with God.
Looking back over my life, I have had the privilege of serving the children and grand children of the Great Generation. By this I mean the children who came after World War II and the Great Depression. I can only remember one classmate who came out of a broken home and this was from a student body of twelve hundred seniors. I realized recently, this generation understood Covenant, loyalty, faithfulness. I saw in those years Johnny go marching off to war and I saw Johnny comes marching home again, WHO RAH!! WHO RAH!! I REALLY DID. I have been blessed to see America expand and though it is painful to admit, I have seen the moral demise of our nation. Heritage was blessed to have a core of charter members made up of those who together have been used of God to lay a strong foundation for the future. Covenant sons and daughters who understood the language of covenant.
We will do well to remember that the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is built on Covenant, BLOOD COVENANT and this alone is where we build our hope. In Christ Alone I Place my Trust and I Am Abandoned o The Captain of the Mighty Host of Heaven who died for me and shed His Blood for us Amen.

THE BLOOD COVENANT
I've a right to grace, in the hardest place,
On the ground of the Blood Covenant;
I've a right to peace that can never cease,
On the ground of the Blood Covenant.
I've a right to joy, that can never cloy,
On the ground of the Blood Covenant;
I've a right to power, yes, this very hour,
On the ground of the Blood Covenant.
I've a right to health, thru my Father's wealth,
On the ground of the Blood Covenant;
I my healing take, Satan's hold must break,
On the ground of the Blood Covenant.
I've a legal right, now to win this fight,
On the ground of the Blood Covenant;
I will take my part with courageous heart
On the ground of the Blood Covenant.
Now my rights I claim, in His Mighty Name,
On the ground of the Blood Covenant;
And my prayers prevail, tho all Hell assail,
On the ground of the Blood Covenant.

THE EARTH IS DEFILED BY IT'S PEOPLE;
THEY HAVE DISOBEYED THE LAWS,
THEY HAVE VIOLATED THE STATUTES
and THEY HAVE BROKEN THE EVERLASTING COVENANT." Isaiah 24:5 (NIV)
