Years ago I read a great book that I have never forgotten. It was so good I recommended it to my friends and family.

The book was Fearfully and Wonderfully Made by Dr. Paul Brand. It is a fascinating look at all the human body systems and how they related to the Body of Christ. Dr. Brand worked with lepers most of his life and had amazing insights. One of the chapters was on blood, and it will help you understand the profound way blood cleanses us physically, which will help you understand the way the Blood of Jesus cleanses us spiritually. He writes about Jesus being the head, the purpose of pain and interconnectivity.

One pastor read the book and made this comment, "When I had rotator cuff surgery the rest of my body felt so bad for my shoulder, it stayed up to keep it company!" I can say from experience, I know what he was talking about. Pain is like a bad renter or a squatter that we read about who moves into a house and lives there only to be forcibly evicted by authorities.

Dr. Brands book is primarily about (CIP), a term that describes people who have a CONGENITAL INSENSITIVITY TO PAIN. This disease describes a group of very rare conditions in which a person is unable to feel pain from the time they are born. Individuals with CIP do not have pain from burns, or infections, which can lead to serious health problems. People with CIP cannot detect harmful levels of heat, cold, or pressure and they may have repeated injuries and experience difficulty in healing.

I have dealt with people who have had to deal with real wounds all my life. My cousin Bobby was in a car wreck with his father, my Uncle Alec died in the accident. As a result of the accident Bobby was burned over 80% of his body. It was and ordeal for the family as he had to make routine trips while being treated for his condition at the Shriners Hospital in Dallas, Texas. I watched them as a child, change the bandages on his severely burned body. He lost toes, ligaments in his leg, and walked with a limp as a result of this life changing experience.

Many in our family served in the military and they had wounds, but not the kind you can see. They were wounds just the same.

The Psalmist David spoke of wounds:

I have learned many things from my wounds and more than likely so have you.

The ageless story of the Good Samaritan should be a lesson for all of us. Do you have a FIRST AID KIT FOR THOSE THAT YOU ENCOUNTER ON THE ROAD OF LIFE WHO NEED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION?
Our society is in great need of Emergency Service Agents who have been equipped to assist those who have fallen among the thieves that strip you of more than just your coverings.

It is healed people who can heal people; people like you who God is depending on to be his extended hand to the one life who has been side lined. Go get them. They are closer than you think.

My friend Jim Mackey writes, "The Word of God has to be the standard for believers." Let me say it this way, "it is the standard for all believers regardless of what governments or modern cultural thoughts and philosophies might become."

• HAVE YOU EVER HEARD SOMEONE SAY, "SURELY, THE BIBLE CAN'T MEAN THAT?"
• HAVE YOU READ, "TRADITION CAN MAKE THE WORD OF GOD TO NONE EFFECT?"
• HAVE YOU HEARD OVEREMPHASIS ON CERTAIN SUBJECTS BEYOND BIBLICAL EMPHASIS?
• HAVE YOU HAD A TENDENCY TO MAKE YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, A STANDARD BY WHICH OTHERS MEASURE WHAT THEY HAVE EXPERIENCED IN GOD?

I feel a responsibility to place an emphasis, as Paul did in Ephesians 4:1, on the way we walk. We are not to walk according to the fashion of this world.

On occasion you may see someone on television, suspected of driving under the influence, asked to walk the line. This of course is to see if their response is impaired that they would be a danger to themselves and to others. Could it be that we are seeing individuals who are inebriated by the spirit of this world. Ephesians 5:16-20 carries a great deal of weight in this matter:

"So Watch your step. (WATCH YOUR WALK) Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times!

Don't live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants.

Don't drink too much wine. That cheapens your life. Drink the Spirit of God, huge drafts of him. Sing hymns instead of drinking songs! Sing songs from your heart to Christ. Sing praises over everything, any excuse for a song to God the Father in the name of our Master, Jesus Christ."  Eph. 5:16-20 MSG

In the next few days, the political machine will be in full swing and it is time for a call to prayer. It is not that we have not already mustered the prayer force of Heritage but there is always a need to remind ourselves that when good men do nothing evil prevails. We have found it profitable to make declarations and proclamations that will resound in our hearts and the courtroom of heaven. Recently Sherry Brackney, one of our intercessors, shared with me a prayer that she has been praying from the Psalms, it could be a help to you as well.

Excerpted from Psalm 35:
As I read this prayer, I realize that we are in a battle for the future of our nation. "Ernest Baker argues that religion is failing of our day because it has failed to provide models of heroism for young people. That is why young people turn away from religion and even despise it. They, like the rest of us, seek to do something with their lives that justifies their existence. According to Becker young people despise a culture that promises them comfort and the church that seeks to entertain them." I find this an interesting consideration. Becker contends that Youth is made for heroism, not just pleasure. He goes on to say that youth reject a religion that only invites them to imitate rolls created by society to ensure culturally defined success. In my lifetime I find myself in agreement with Becker, for the most part we feel that we can only face death if we have done something magnificently heroic with our lives.

Anthony Campolo writes: In heroism we affirm both our humanity and divinity. He says, "We affirm our divinity by what is worthy of the gods and we affirm our humanity by taking risk only available to mortals". It is my prayer that God will in this present hour raise up men and women who will not cower in fear when there is so much at stake.

It is time to stand up for the FIRST and SECOND AMMENDMENT, for human rights and for the SANCTITY OF LIFE. We are in a battle for the freedom of religion and this season is all the reason you need to become vocal first to the heavens and then to world around us. IF NOT YOU, WHO? AND IF NOT NOW, WHEN? GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS YOU TODAY IS MY PRAYER.

It is with anticipation we face another school year in Heritage Academy. The year of 2026-2027 stands in front of us like a road to be traveled. All of those who have been involved in the remodel of the campus are to be appreciated and those who have been a part of this process before are rejoicing in regard to the sweat equity that has been given to improve our facilities. Thanks are in order for so many who have donated, painted, scrubbed, mopped, waxed, dusted, power washed, changed lighting, discarded furniture, thrown away books, greeted new parents and students and especially those who have joined with our Heritage Prayer Team; praying for the providential blessings of God on this years student body.

On Sunday we are going to pray for our new administrator, Kevin Berry and for the staff that joins with us for the new school year.

In the past we have described our ambition to offer the students and their families a Christ Centered Education. Andrew Bonar said this to another generation, which is as powerful today as the day he first said it, "My one ambition is to know Christ and this one aim simplified my whole life."

The work done this summer is a good illustration, of what I make mention of when I speak of MOVING PARTS. A poem I remember from one stanza, I am often reminded of, "SHINE LIKE A LIGHTNING BUG IF YOU CANNOT BE A STAR,"

This summer people were shining and "God is not unfaithful to forget your work and labor of love."

We hold the line for our families in regards to the curriculum, from the earliest ages to our graduates. Our desire is to see the world of every child expanded as we continue to teach and impart through our lifestyles and the lives we live on a daily basis before them, what it means to walk with the Lord.

Our vision for the school is like any GOD GIVEN VISION, it requires:

• AND STEAM

In the past few weeks I have stopped by to speak with Kevin and those who I speak of as those who are moving toward our deadline of September the 8th. They were working so hard their shirts could not even hit their backs. I have driven by at mid-night only to find people painting and laying flooring in our Academy offices.

WELCOME TO MY WORLD, TO "EACH" OF YOU TODAY,

Recently, I found myself thinking about what is called Motivational Gifts and those who fail to recognize the importance of living within what God has called them in to. Some have struggled in life because they attempt to live outside off what they have the intuitively been prepared for in life. It would be hard for a foot to attempt to be and ear. Can you imagine an arm thinking it was a leg, a toe thinking it could function as a finger, a knee in an attempt to be an elbow, that would be a ridiculous display of awkwardness. Follow me down these absurd steps to what would be a slow journey to no where. However, if you do you will see that God does not intend for an electrician to be a someone who is plumber or and engineer to be just a laborer. Each person has his own set of skills to help fulfill the task in building.

For instance, follow me as I unwrap todays letter for you to consider:

Motivational Gifts work together like a hand in a glove. Let me proceed to the intersection of reality.

Romans 12
Dedicated Service

12 [a]Therefore I urge you, [b]brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be [c]transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].

3 For by the grace [of God] given to me I say to everyone of you not to think more highly of himself [and of his importance and ability] than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has apportioned to EACH a degree of faith [and a purpose designed for service].

4 For just as in one [physical] body we have many parts, and these parts do not all have the same function or special use, 5 so we, who are many, are [nevertheless just] one body in Christ, and individually [we are] parts one of another [mutually dependent on "EACH" other]

6 Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, "EACH" of us is to use them accordingly: if [someone has the gift of] prophecy, [let him speak a new message from God to His people] in proportion to the faith possessed;

7 if service, in the act of serving; or he who teaches, in the act of teaching;

8 or he who encourages, in the act of encouragement; he who gives, with generosity; he who leads, [d]with diligence; he who shows mercy [in caring for others], with cheerfulness.

9 Love is to be sincere and active [the real thing--without guile and hypocrisy]. Hate what is evil [detest all ungodliness, do not tolerate wickedness]; hold on tightly to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another with [authentic] brotherly affection [as members of one family], give preference to one another in honor; 11 never lagging behind in diligence; aglow in the Spirit, enthusiastically serving the Lord; 12 constantly rejoicing in hope [because of our confidence in Christ], steadfast and patient in distress, devoted to prayer [continually seeking wisdom, guidance, and strength], 13 contributing to the needs of God's people, pursuing [the practice of] hospitality.

14 Bless those who persecute you [who cause you harm or hardship]; bless and do not curse [them].

15 Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others' joy], and weep with those who weep [sharing others' grief]. 16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty [conceited, self-important, exclusive], but associate with humble people [those with a realistic self-view]. Do not overestimate yourself. 17 Never repay anyone evil for evil. Take thought for what is right and gracious and proper in the sight of everyone. 18 If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God's wrath [and His judicial righteousness]; for it is written [in Scripture], "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. 20 But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for by doing this you will heap burning coals on his head." 21 Do not be overcome and conquered by evil, but overcome evil with good.

NOW THERE ARE 7 OF THESE MOTIVATIONAL GIFTS TO BE FOUND IN THE SCRIPTURE, WHICH ARE TO THE BENEFIT OF THE BODY OF CHRIST.

In his letter to the Roman Christians, the Apostle Paul challenges them to use their spiritual gifts: "For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

"Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; or he that exhorteth on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness" (Romans 12:4--8).

The gifts mentioned here are seven motivational spiritual gifts. "Each" Christian receives one at the time of salvation, and it is the tool through which God works in him or her to see needs and to do something to meet them. These gifts equip"EACH" believers to take a vital role in the Church.

Below are details about of the seven motivational gifts, including Biblical examples of those who had the gifts, exhortations from Romans 12 about properly exercising the gifts, and the life principles that best complement the strengths and weaknesses of the gifts.

Prophecy
A person with the motivational gift of prophecy applies the Word of God to a situation so that sin is exposed and relationships are restored. He or she has a strong sense of right and wrong and speaks out against compromise and evil.

Biblical Example: The Apostle Peter played a significant role in the establishment of the early Church. Through his preaching, ministry, and writing, Peter encouraged men and women to believe in Christ, repent, and live according to the truth of God's Word. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19).

Guidelines in Romans 12: The exhortation of Romans 12:9 particularly relates to the gift of prophecy: "Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good"(ESV).

Life Principle to Apply: It is especially important for a prophet to apply the principle of responsibility and maintain a clear conscience. This discipline equips the prophet to speak the truth boldly with love.

Serving
A person with the motivational gift of serving is driven to demonstrate love by meeting practical needs. The server is available to see a project through to the end and enjoys doing physical work.

Biblical Example: Timothy had a great desire to serve the Church of God, and he ministered to the Apostle Paul in many ways. Paul said: "I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy shortly unto you… I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's. But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel" (Philippians 2:19--22).

Guidelines in Romans 12: The exhortation of Romans 12:10 particularly relates to the gift of serving: "Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor"(ESV).

Life Principle to Apply: A server needs to diligently apply the principle of authority. As he honors the directions and wishes of authority figures, the server is better equipped to maintain proper priorities in time management and is often protected from individuals who might take advantage of his eagerness to help meet physical needs.

Teaching
A person with the motivational gift of teaching is passionate about discovering and validating truth. A teacher is particularly concerned with the accuracy of information, especially church doctrine, and is often gifted with research abilities.

Biblical Example: Luke's work in writing Scriptural accounts was driven by a desire to verify and preserve the truth about both Jesus' life and the formation of the Church so that the faith of believers would be strengthened. "It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, that thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed" (Luke 1:3--4).

Guidelines in Romans 12: The exhortation of Romans 12:11 particularly relates to the gift of serving: "Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord"(ESV).

Life Principle to Apply: A teacher should faithfully apply the principle of success and invest time in meditation on Scripture. The discipline of meditation helps the teacher stay focused on the truth of God's Word instead of on the strength of his own mind.

Exhorting
A person with the motivational gift of exhortation wants to see believers grow to spiritual maturity. An exhorter is an encourager at heart and is often involved in the ministries of counseling, teaching, and discipleship.

Biblical Example: The epistles of the Apostle Paul demonstrate his love for the Church and his concern that believers all over the world grow to spiritual maturity. Paul addressed the questions and concerns of the early believers and challenged them to be faithful in their walks with God. "Christ in you, the hope of glory: whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: whereunto I also labor, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily." (Colossians 1:27--29).

Guidelines in Romans 12: The exhortation of Romans 12:12 particularly relates to the gift of exhortation: "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer."(ESV).

Life Principle to Apply: It is essential for an exhorter to understand the principle of God's design and to accept God's design in his own life. An understanding of this principle establishes a firm foundation for understanding and accepting the sovereignty of God, which is a key to the exhorter's ministry.

Giving
A person with the motivational gift of giving wants to use financial resources wisely in order to give to meet the needs of others. A giver is usually good at finding the best buy, noticing overlooked needs, and maintaining a budget.

Biblical Example: When Jesus called Matthew to become a disciple, Matthew immediately gave up his lucrative job, that of being a tax collector for the Romans. "As Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him" (Matthew 9:9). Givers often avoid the limelight, so it is not surprising that even in the Gospel written by Matthew we find very little personal information about him.

Guidelines in Romans 12:The exhortation of Romans 12:13 particularly relates to the gift of giving: "Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality"(ESV).

Life Principle to Apply: A giver must learn to wisely apply the principle of ownership. When a giver understands that all things belong to God and should be used to bring glory to Him, he is ready to share his resources as God directs him to give.

Organizing
A person with the motivational gift of organizing is able to accomplish tasks and solve problems through analysis and delegation. An organizer often discerns the talents and abilities of others and knows how those individuals can best serve within a ministry or on a particular project.

Biblical Example: When the Apostle Paul and his fellow missionaries brought the Gospel to Philippi, a woman named Lydia heard them preach and responded with faith in God. As a business owner and persuasive woman of faith, Lydia used her resources to help meet Paul's needs and she welcomed the missionaries into her home. "When she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us" (Acts 16:15).

Guidelines in Romans 12: The exhortation of Romans 12:14 particularly relates to the gift of organization and the life principle of suffering: "Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them"(ESV).

Life Principle to Apply: A person with the gift of organization needs to understand the principle of suffering. Trusting God to use the tests and trials of life to develop his character and strengthen his faith helps an organizer respond to unexpected events with patience and wisdom and increases his sensitivity to the needs of others.

Mercy
A person with the motivational gift of mercy is sensitive to the emotional and spiritual needs of others. A mercy-giver is drawn to people in need and seeks to demonstrate compassion, understanding, and love to them.

Biblical Example: The Apostle John had the gift of mercy. The Gospel of John and the epistles I, II, and III John share a unique perspective of Jesus' ministry and include many insights into the love of God and His work in the heart of a believer. "A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another" (John 13:34--35).

Guidelines in Romans 12: The exhortation of Romans 12:15 particularly relates to the gift of mercy: "Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep."(ESV).

Life Principle to Apply: It is important for a mercy-motivated person to apply the principle of moral freedom. An understanding of this principle will protect the mercy-giver from developing improper relationships or giving false impressions to those to whom they minister.

NOW ASK YOURSELF, WHAT IF THESE GIFTING LAY DORMANT AND INOPERABLE IN THE LIVES OF BELIEVERS OR WHAT IF THESE MOTIVATIONS BECAME A FUNCTIONING PART OF THE CHURCH AND WERE RECOGNIZED BY THE LEADERS IN A LOCAL BODY OF BELIEVERS. HOW POWERFUL COULD THESE MOTIVATIONAL GIFTS BECOME A, IF THEY WERE OPERATING AND RECOGNIZED IN EACH LOCAL CHURCH,

RECENTLY, I SPOKE ON A WORD IN THE BIBLE, WHICH IS OFTEN OVERLOOKED. IT WAS A FRIDAY NIGHT. A BELIEVER IS AND "EACH" IS TO BE RECOGNIZED AS SUCH, THE VALUE OF "EACH" BELIEVER IS IMPORTANT AND SHOULD NOT BE OVERLOOKED, I BARELY SCRATCHED THE WORD, "EACH".

BLESSINGS TO "EACH" OF YOU THIS WEEK,

I have always been fond of the word cherish, and let me tell you why. It means to care for someone or something deeply, to hold them very dear, and to treat them with love and tenderness. It also means fond memories or hopes alive in your mind because they bring you joy. It also means to love and protect, to value deeply, to prize, to treasure or to harbor in ones mind.

From my early youth I remember things I cherished, such as my mother, father, sister, and brother. My first best friends were my cousins. I cherished them and the experiences we had as children; memories I still remember and that bring me joy. My aunts and uncle were on that list, some who even their names I cherish. These were not everyday household names, they were different but they were the kinds of names you never forgot like:

Elsworth, Poncie Hurston, Zetha Lee, and Cleo. My mom's name was Golda Onita and my dad's name was Cleddie, how could I ever forget.

As I grew older I began to cherish different things such as Bosco, my dog, who never new a leash and lost his life chasing a delivery truck. Or there was my black and white shepherd, Billy, who I nursed back to life after he got hit by a car. Funny the things you cherish as a child. They have a way of teaching how to treasure better things. I still treasure the memory of two friends that were killed on the last day of our eighth grade, riding a motor scooter to a swim park to spend the day with us. One of them had taps on their shoes and they were making sparks fly off the concrete when they got struck by lightning and killed instantly. I cherish their memory because they were the first who invited me to a church camp the year before and I went.

I even had some teachers that I cherished. One was a lady, who was my English teacher in my junior year. I had won the Golden Gloves and when we went to class the morning after, she had put newspaper clippings all over the room of my championship fight. She knew how to endear herself to her students, because she had done that for others as well when they had done something successful.

GayNell is a treasure to me, as I am sure other couples feel the same. I cherish the memories of our courtship. Remember, I needed a piano player for a wife as a young preacher and she fit the bill. Really that had nothing to do with it, but we often have joked about this among other things.

I cherished her from the first moment I met her, and treated her as my life partner. Being a preacher's kid did not hurt, because I had a lot to learn. She will tell you she taught me how to speak English.

I cherish the memory of the birth of Krista, who was born with infantile glaucoma. Krista, who could talk before she could walk and who has hardly ever taken a breath. I cherish her miraculous healing. I cherish the moment God spoke to me about the ordeal we went through, and after the battle God spoke to me one morning in a Sunday Morning Worship Service and said, "Son all you had to do was ask Me."

I cherish the memory of meeting the lady from the Adoption agency at the George Bush International Airport in Houston, on flight 757 from Kansas. She placed Kyle in GayNell's arms and the joy that she and Krista had as they doted over the little premie God had given us.

I cherish the memories of the people God has entrusted us with to serve them as Pastor. People who will never realize how they enlarged my life as they trusted me with their souls and you who have trusted us for nearly 45 years this coming October. I CHERISH THE MEMORIES or as one famous character said, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!!

I cherish my books, but most of all the Bible, which has served as my dear friend for sixty-six years. I cherish my library and several books that I have in it; revelation that has directed my steps along the way. They have deposited in me Devotional Insights that have become stepping-stones along the way, even in some of the loneliest days of my life. I cherish their deposit in my soul.

I cherish those who have walked the path with me and the elders who have been like rocks and pillars in my life, holding up my hands when they would have been hanging down to my side. I cherish the fun and the trips over seas which are too many to list, as well as the adventures we have had building churches in Mexico where they are still speaking about you, calling you by name.

Looking back, we have tasted the goodness of God, enjoyed His wonder, and taken the high road in every situation we have faced together. I cherish the staff members the Lord has given us over the years and the privileges God has given us as a church, to represent Him at home an abroad.

This is only a few of the important things and people, God has given me to cherish for which I am more than appreciative. You are always on my mind.

One of the things I love about Heritage is the constant ebb and flow of the Holy Spirit moving among us from week to week. This past Sunday is a good example of what I am making reference to, in that the Worship was as though Heaven had set a table before us in the presence of this refreshing has still remained in my soul throughout the week and I am sure that others know what I am referring to as well. It reminds me of the old song, HEAVEN CAME DOWN AND GLORY FILLED MY SOUL.

I want to take a moment to thank all of you who have been involved in the 127 YARD SALE, this past weekend, hundreds came through with license plates from all over the nation without incidents because of the way our people served during this Youth Program. The Lord blessed us with good weather and I even made a couple of good deals, myself. ONE MAN'S JUNK IS ANOTHER MAN'S TREASURE!

As you know we have been doing a total refurbishing of the classrooms and the school for the 26/27 school year and made changes in that Howard Davis has retired after 37 years of faithful service to our academy. Our new administrator is Kevin Berry, who comes to us with many year of education behind him. We are excited about our new teachers and are looking forward to the New Year. This is a PRAYER PRIORITY and I ask you to join us in praying protection on our students and their families as though they have been given to us as a sacred trust, for God's watch care over them.

One of the things that is always on my heart is those who we send out into other nations during the year and those who are serving on foreign fields. A crusade is being planned into Mexico in the fall and you can pray about helping them out financially. Pastor Renee Rocha and Evangelist Brandon Duke are leading this crusade and you can speak to them about being a part of this outreach.

Some are going to the Shake the Nations Anniversary Crusade in the fall as well. This is being hosted by Evangelist Nathan Morris in Great Britain. You can contact Shake the Nations for more information.

Are you ready? Do you think we should be asking friends, family and strangers this question in light of what is going on in the Middle East and around the world? Back in 1969, Larry Norman wrote a song that has been going off in my head for several days now. The first released version of this song was used as a rapture song in movies at the time. It probably was the most famous of Larry Norman's songs and one of the first to be embraced by church culture. Many others recorded this song. Ironically the song was used to scare teens into heaven, which was the exact opposite of what Norman intended.

I never thought of it like a scare tactic but it was sung often in the Jesus Movement of the early 70's. I was thinking about the lyrics the other day and the thought came to me, THAT WAS THEN, THIS IS NOW. Check out the lyrics, written 57 years ago and ask yourself, are there any songs like this being written today, when we are closer to Christ return now than we were then.


As I said, I have been thinking about this song all week. It is interesting how a song like this never seems to go away. It is more than amazing how up to date it is even over a half a century later. Can you ever imagine how really up to date this really is?

I am writing this for those who are presently going through what we might call a spiritual storm.

The Bible is not silent when it comes to storms, as matter of fact He has this to say when it comes to storms:
The Storm
Job was not naïve when it came to the power that storms can produce and he mentions it like this. I love how he speaks of the storms passing. Some of you will remember this song:




As I was writing this a strong thunder storm rolled through and I was safe inside the house, the storm was hostile for about thirty minutes and then it passed over, no damage, no floods, no broken tree limbs, or downed power lines. Now in the distance I can here it as thunders on across the clearing skies and the fresh smell of summer rain, has been left behind.


It was King David, who speaks about a refuge and a safe place from the storms of life along with the Prophet Isaiah who knew the provision of shelter from the storms of life.

You will find the word COME, 1,164 times in the Message translation of the Bible. It has been said that this is God's Favorite word. He is our Hiding Place and His invitation is forever standing.

In closing, a second storm is rolling through with stronger winds, more rain, and stronger lightning but it too will pass.

Be of good cheer child of God your storm will pass over too.

Lately, I have heard many people speaking about the Bible and conjuring up their own ideas of what this or that means. I went into a church before I was born again, to be a part of a wedding party. I was a part of the groomsman, who were all childhood friends of mine. It all looked nice, like a wedding is expected to look; flowers, candles, music, and a beautiful wedding dress. A nostalgic atmosphere filled the room. It was a formal wedding, I guess you could say, in that there was a white shot gun.

I had broken every law in the book to get there, in that I was working out of town a hundred miles away. With that being the case I did not even have time to go home and get cleaned up. We were working in a glass plant and I was covered with grease, worse than a grease monkey. Every exposed area of my body was covered with soot and grime. What to do was foremost on my mind, so I stopped in a service station to change into the tuxedo. However, I was a filthy mess, first I washed my hands and arms up to my elbows, washed and scrubbed my hair with 20 mule team borax. I washed my neck which was so black I looked like I has a beard.

Then came the tuxedo with a tuxedo shirt and all the buttons, bow tie, black patent shoes, cuff links, all the works. What people did not realize was I was so filthy under what they could see, it would take me a couple of hours in a shower to get the grit off, later that evening.

It was in the back, behind the pulpit, I found something. Even before I had given my heart to Christ, what I saw disturbed me to the core of my being.

I picked up a song book and every song about the blood had been cut out. I asked them why they did this and they said, "it was too gory and disturbing to think about or make reference to." I was not even saved at this time but I knew this couldn't fly, if you know what I mean. You have already thought of where I may be going with this thought. First of all they could sing, I'll MEET YOU IN THE MORNING till they were blue in the face and without the BLOOD OF JESUS, there will be no endless night for them. I was a proverb in the house for a wedding, dressed up on the outside but miserable and not thoroughly clean on the inside. They must have thought membership meant redemption to them, but they were sadly mistaken. They had divorced themselves from the need - the need to be purged - or as David would have said, "Wash me and I shall be clean." I needed all of that and I knew it. This all took place in 1961, and today that denomination embraces same sex marriage, alternate life styles, hatred of Israel, and many other anti-Biblical positions. It is called the DRIFT. It is casual and will catch you by surprise. Today that denomination is caught in the rapids of time.

As a pastor, all these years later, I have watched as people and denominations have removed things they were not comfortable with in the Bible. I preached on one of those last Sunday. Let me take another shot at it as you read our weekly letter from Heritage.

We will do this by letting the Bible speak for itself.

To Understand what Biblical tithing means, there is no better place to start than asking, who does THE TITHE BELONG TO?

Leviticus 27:30 states clearly: "THE TITHE BELONGS TO THE LORD."

THE NEW TESTAMENT FIRST, MATTHEW 23:23 and Luke 11:42.

But woe to you, Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every [little] herb, but disregard and neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done without leaving the others undone.

IN TODAY'S LANGUAGE

"I've had it with you! You're hopeless, you Pharisees! Frauds! You keep meticulous account books, tithing on every nickel and dime you get, but manage to find loopholes for getting around basic matters of justice and God's love. Careful bookkeeping is commendable, but the basics are required.

NO MATTER WHAT THE LANGUAGE MIGHT BE CONCERNING THE TITHE, IT IS THE LANGUAGE OF FAVOR AND BLESSING.

"THE TITHE IS HOLY TO THE LORD"
LEVITICUS 27:30-34

Tithing can strengthen your faith in that it is an expression of your sacred trust in God.

YOU CAN SEE THAT JESUS TAUGHT THAT GIVING AND GENEROSITY SHOULD BE ROOTED IN A PURE HEART OF LOVE FOR GOD.

HE EMPHASIZES THIS IN THE PARABLE OF THE PHARISEE AND TAX COLLECTOR. JESUS REBUKES THE PHARISEE TELLING THEM YOUR EMPHASIS IS IN THE WRONG PLACE AND YOU HAVE LEFT SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT UNATTENDED.

TITHING ISN'T ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU HAVE; IT IS ABOUT, WHO YOU TRUST.

GOD HAD YOU IN MIND WHEN HE SAYS: "I WOULD THAT YOU WOULD PROSPER AND BE IN HEALTH EVEN AS YOUR SOUL PROSPERS."

THE TITHE IS THE FIRST FRUIT AND NOT THE SECOND OR THIRD. IT IS GIVING RIGHT OFF THE TOP AND THE LORD, LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER.

I BELIEVE IN GOD'S WORD AND I HAVE FOUND IT TO BE MY PASSAGE, MANY TIMES INTO A FULLER LIFE OR LIFE MORE ABUNDANT.

Sound the alarm; Uncle Sam needs you to do more than just pray.

ALL HANDS ON DECK, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE.

I have, as you may realize, traveled to and from England through the years, and have developed a great appreciation for the Biblical influence this has had on my life. I used to spend hours in a bookshop called the BARICON in York, England before they shut it down. From what I understand one of the major reasons for it existing in the first place, was to raise money for ministries in Israel. I could tell you every nook and cranny of the shop, there on the side street from the busy hustle and bustle of the city.

I won't bore you with the stories I know about York, but it is rich with record. An old Roman wall is still a part of it's powerful history, the York Minster is there, and a tower still stands as a cruel memory of a thousand Jews being burned to death - simply because. Let history speak for itself…

After the Norman Conquest of 1066, a number of Jews came to England from Rouen in France. The early Norman kings needed to borrow money to build castles and secure their kingdom, but money lending was forbidden to Christians. It was, however, permitted to Jews. These French-speaking Jews were protected by the Crown, and in time, established communities in most of the principal cities of England. In the later 12th century, members of the Jewish community in Lincoln settled in York.

There was growing hostility towards the Jewish population in England. This was in part due to public disagreements in theology between Jewish scholars and Christian churchmen. In the middle 12th century, several vicious stories were spread accusing Jews of murdering Christian children. History records these slanders, now known as the ‘Blood Libel', which strengthened anti-Semitic sentiment in England. One of the worst anti-Semitic massacres of the Middle Ages took place in York in 1190. The city's entire Jewish community was trapped by an angry mob inside the tower of York Castle. Many members of the community chose to commit suicide rather than be murdered or forcibly baptized by the attackers. They had now challenged the king's authority, and troops joined the mob outside, where they were pelted with stones from the castle walls by the besieged Jews.

Friday, March 16th coincided with Shabbat Hagadol, the ‘Great Sabbath' before the Jewish festival of Pesach or Passover. According to several accounts, the Jews realized that they could not hold out against their attackers, and rather than waiting to be killed or forcibly baptized, decided to meet death together. The father of each family killed his wife and children, before taking his own life.

Just before their deaths, they also set fire to the possessions they had brought with them; this fire consumed the timber tower. It is not clear how many Jews were present -- estimates range from 20 to 40 families, and a later account in Hebrew suggests about 150 people.

History is important. I found this piece of interesting providence as I was reading from an article published by a friend of mine, who has since gone on to be with the Lord.

TAKING THE WRAP OF GOD'S WORD

It was a largish parcel wrapped in brown paper handed to me by an elderly woman as she left after the morning service in the Eastbourne Elim church some 40 or so years ago.

"Thought you might find this interesting," she said. Opening one end, I saw what seemed to be an old family Bible and took it home otherwise unopened and placed it on the floor of my study.

One Sunday afternoon months later, as our family was sitting together chatting about old books, I remembered the parcel. One of the children fetched it from my study and we opened it, expecting to find the recorded marriages, births, and deaths of complete strangers inscribed on the first few pages.

Instead, what we saw caused a frisson of excitement. The old, badly worn covers, both of which had ring marks where a hot vessel of some kind had been placed on them, opened to disclose the ornate title page of what is known as a ‘Geneva Bible‘.

It was a 1607 edition of a version first published in l560 and was printed four years before the publication of the King James Bible in 1611. We possessed a treasure without knowing it.

Holding this 400-year-old book today makes me wonder about the person who first bought this Bible. Who was he, or she? They must have been comparatively wealthy to be able to afford it. I imagine them sitting under the oak beams of a beautifully paneled Tudor house, maybe by a mullioned or latticed window, lovingly turning the pages of the most treasured possession they have.

For the first time, instead of hearing the mumbled Latin of the priest in church, they are reading to gathered family and friends in their own English language and in their own home, the living Word of God!

With what profound thanks they remember William Tyndale, who was burned at the stake because of his determination to translate the Bible into English, and those Protestant scholars who fled to Geneva during the bloody persecution under Mary the 1st, to produce this treasured version (a thankfulness still shared in our day in remote parts of the world where the magnificent ministry of Wycliffe translators places a newly-translated Bible into eager hands). I try to think of the succeeding generations to whom this precious book was handed down and am humbled by the thought that I, then a 20th century father, should share its pages with my children. And then I remembered the ring marks on the covers!

At some point in its long history this book fell into the hands of people who had no appreciation of its historic significance or of the divine revelation it contained; to them it was simply a conveniently thick table-mat! To this day it bears the scars of disinterest and misuse.

That reminds me that I had this book in my possession wrapped up in brown paper and unread for months, all because of false assumptions I had made about it!

And that, in turn, reminds me that, according to recent surveys, every week there are thousands of Pentecostal and Evangelical Christians who don't open their Bibles on weekdays. They say they love God but never take time to read his Word; his love letters go unread. Their only encounter with the Bible is on Sundays, and in many churches, that itself is a very brief one.

In closing this weeks letter, let me say, if we expect America to remain as a Christian Nation and Christianity to survive then true believers will have to get involved in politics. What we are watching is Islam, Communism, and other philosophies are becoming involved and we fight it from our family rooms and easy chairs and it does not accomplish a thing.

NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD MEN TO COME TO THE AID OF THEIR COUNTRY.

This is the first thing I ever learned to type on a typewriter in typing class at 16 years old as a sophomore in High School. I don't think there is a better time to use it than right now.

This is not Hallmark speaking, but I want to have a little Christmas in July this week to keep the celebration going, as it were. Just think, Angels were contracted to share the Divine Birth Announcement and we can apply it to our daily lives. Doctor Luke recorded these wonderful words for us and I have it hanging on the corners of my mind as I write our weekly letter,


Glory to God in the Highest and Peace, Goodwill to men He favors or has His approval. Just think about this with me:

What is the highest, what does it include?

Our application is intended and when we praise God over all things, issues, worries, cares, problems, concerns, anticipations, heartaches, grief, diagnosis, bad news, good news, fear anxiety, uneasiness, uncertainty, apprehensions, nervousness, agitation, discomfort, doubt, panic, stress, sweat, desperation, anguish, dread, dismay, alarm, angst, jitter or the qualms. I think something has captured my attention for instance:

"Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise." Psalm 106:47

Christmas has a way of lifting my spirit and it is like a medicine to my mind, soul as well.


I have a biological clock and a spiritual clock in my body as well. It is up to me to set it for good reason.


I am in good company when I praise the Lord, the company of the committed, or as I can also mention, A BAND OF BROTHERS.


I have wonderful memories of Christmas as a boy with all the family together, three aunts and two uncles and all their children, listening before any gifts were passed out on Christmas Eve night, my uncle Zetha Lee Anderson (Zeke) as he was called by his family and friends, reading for us the Christmas Story. Ladies and Gentlemen - it took! It made a lasting imprint on my mind after hearing it year after year, from someone who loved Jesus.

How many of you live with a knowing in you?


Whoever thought of Christmas in July is a great theme for any time of the calendar, the idea is to keep praise alive in your mind and heart at all times. Merry Christmas everybody, "He ever lives to make intercession for us."

I believe in the virgin birth of Christ. I believe in His sinless life. I believe He vicariously suffered in my place and yours, dying on the cross for our sins. I believe He was buried in a borrowed tomb, because He was not going to need it but for 3 days. I believe death could not hold Him, and I believe he was resurrected. (UP FROM THE GRAVE HE AROSE) to the right hand of the Father, to make intercession for us. I believe in the soon return of the KING OF KINGS, coming back for HIS BRIDE; THE CHURCH.

KEEP LOOKING UP, GOD IS LOOKING DOWN AS WE GIVE GOD THE HIGHEST PRAISE.

J.B. PHILLIPS who was a London Vicar and Parish Priest in WWII, suffered from poor health in the last few years of his life. He suffered from long spells of depression, severe migraines and other physical illnesses restricted him from traveling, which led to sadness and disappointment. I have him to thank for insights into his work called, LETTERS TO YOUNG CHURCHES, by the year 1957 one million copies had been sold in the United States and by 1970, more than 10 million of his books had been sold. He was considered one of the greatest communicators of all time.

Today as I write this letter to those I have given my life to for forty four years, on the week of the 250th Anniversary of America's birthday, I wanted to express my love for our Nation. I don't just pray for God to bless her, I love her from the deep, deep valleys, to the tallest mountains, from sea to shining sea and to the wide plains of the center of the continent with it's flowing rivers that nurture her, she is a beauty to behold.

But what is love?

LOVE IS THE GREATEST, FOR WITHOUT IT, THERE IS NO WORTH-WHILE SUCCESS AND NO REAL SECURITY.

LOVE  IS  THE  GREATEST.  FOR  MEN ARE  NEVER  TRANSFORMED AT  HEART PERMANENTLY EXCEPT BY LOVE.

LOVE IS THE GREATEST, FOR WITHOUT IT, KNOWLEDGE CAN BECOME DANGEROUS AND DESTRUCTIVE.

LOVE IS THE GREATEST, FOR IT PERSIST BEYOND THE CONFINES OF THIS TEMPORAL EXISTENCE.

LOVE IS THE GREATEST!!!

HAVE YOU EVER STOPPED TO CONSIDER HOW SLOW THE WAYS OF GOD REALLY ARE? HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT LOVE, BEYOND HUMAN TERMS?

IT IS A LOVE THAT CAN ONLY BE UNDERSTOOD AS BEING HIGHER, DEEPER, TRUER AND MORE JUST, THAN CAN BE IMAGINED.

I AM CONVINCED THAT AMERICA WAS GOD'S IDEA. I HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO "KEEP MYSELF IN THE LOVE OF GOD," ACCORDING TO THE BOOK OF JUDE verse 25.

Have you ever taken to heart the verse found in 1 John 4:8: "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love"? The God that I love became a man, to show us He understands us and experienced life just as we do. It is in what is called the self emptying of himself that he was tempted in all points as we are yet without sin.

It is in his kenosis (self emptying) that we can say, BEHOLD THE MAN.

I HAVE A DOMINATING PURPOSE WHICH I LIVE BY, AND AMERICA GAVE US THE FREEDOM TO PURSUE AND REPRESENT IT. THE APOSTLE PAUL MADE IT CLEAR WHEN

HE SAID; And that's about it, friends. Be glad in God!

I don't mind repeating what I have written in earlier letters, and I hope you don't mind hearing it again. Better safe than sorry--so here goes.

2-6 Steer clear of the barking dogs, those religious busybodies, all bark and no bite. All they're interested in is appearances--knife-happy circumcisers, I call them. The real believers are the ones the

Spirit of God leads to work away at this ministry, filling the air with Christ's praise as we do it. We couldn't carry this off by our own efforts, and we know it--even though we can list what many might think are impressive credentials. You know my pedigree: a legitimate birth, circumcised on the eighth day; an Israelite from the elite tribe of Benjamin; a strict and devout adherent to God's law; a fiery defender of the purity of my religion, even to the point of persecuting the church; a meticulous observer of everything set down in God's law Book.

7-9 The very credentials these people are waving around as something special, I'm tearing up and throwing out with the trash--along with everything else I used to take credit for. And why? Because of Christ. Yes, all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my life. Compared to the high privilege of knowing Christ Jesus as my Master, firsthand, everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificant--dog dung. I've dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ and be embraced by him. I didn't want some petty, inferior brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of rules when I could get the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ--God's righteousness.

10-11 I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself. If there was any way to get in on the resurrection from the dead, I wanted to do it.

THE PURPOSE OF MY LIFE IS TO DO THE WILL OF GOD.

I THINK PAUL WOULD HAVE MADE A GOOD AMERICAN BUT, ANY CHRISTIAN WHO PURSUES HIS PASSION TO FOLLOW CHRIST WOULD BE A GOOD EXAMPLE AS WELL.

TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY YEARS AND THE LOVE OF GOD AND FOR THESE UNITED STATES HAS BEEN THE GLUE THAT HOLDS US TOGETHER. BUT WHAT IS LOVE FOR AMERICA? MANY YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN HAVE GIVEN THEIR LIVES FOR IT FOR WE KNOW, "FREEDOM IS NOT FREE." LOVE FOR GOD AND COUNTRY IS THE GLUE THAT KEPT US TOGETHER AND WILL KEEP US TOGETHER IN YEARS TO COME.

WE LOVE YOU AND WE LOVE AMERICA THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE.

HAVE YOU EVER DANCED LIKE DAVID DID?

I feel as though my job today is to be a part of the Heavenly Father's supply chain, to equip Father's who will in turn equip their children, to prepare for the future.

God's warehouse is full of all that we need to be fully furnished. To do this it would be important to start with equipping the mind.

Paul has this to say to the Philippians:

IN OTHER WORDS YOUR MIND, IS DESIGNED TO BE OCCUPIED WITH WHOLESOME THOUGHTS. LET ME ILLUSTRATE WHAT THE WORD OF GOD SAYS ABOUT THIS. OUR THOUGHTS OR DESIGNED TO CELEBRATE OUR REDEEMED INNOCENCE AND OUR RENEWED IDENTITY IN HIM. WE HAVE TO LET THIS HAPPEN, IT IS NOT JUST AN ACCIDENT THAT IT TAKES PLACE. WE HAVE TO LET THIS MIND BE IN US THAT WAS ALSO IN CHRIST JESUS. TO MANY PEOPLE LIVE IN A TIT FOR TAT MINDSET THAT IS OBVIOUS IN RELIGION AND POLITICS TODAY:

READ 2ND CORINTHIANS 10:3-6

God has the ability to disengage our mindsets and perceptions that have held people captive in pseudo fortresses forever.

Obedience to Christ dwarfs the disobedience to the Adamic nature into insignificance.

We are fine tuned to the voice of our original love language that Adam and Eve were aware of in the garden of Eden. The authentic language of the Father to his creation.

Father's should understand that this is part of what is a Divine calling on us. No bigger mission is before our father's who by example and truth, lead their children on the path in life that leads to peace. I have never felt as a father, that I should teach my children should be loved on the basis of performance, especially in light of the fact that GayNell has never known anything in her life but ministry.

It is so easy to fall into that mindset, when the truth is, our Heavenly Father does not love us on the basis of our performance. It is important to always remember that we are enlightened, and if we have any hidden agenda's, darkness will triumph over truth. We need to teach our children that it is a beaming radiant light that dispels every trace of darkness. When Jesus had a meal with the Pharisee, he was offended that Jesus did not wash before the meal.

What Jesus saw was his host was more concerned about washing the outside of cup or dish than he was the inside of the cups. Teaching him he was full of violent greed, painful and wearisome religious rules and obligations.

It is our privilege to teach our children that loving God is more important than loving the chief seat in the synagogue. He went to great links not to insult the host but to teach him how to keep the real thing, the real thing and not just to decorate their own lives like the forefathers who decorated the tombs of the prophets the killed.

Father's have a responsibility to their off spring:

THE MANDATE TO FATHERS IS TO INSTILL STRONG VALUES AND TEACHINGS IN THEIR CHILDREN AS FOUND IN THE PRINCIPLES OF DEUTERONOMY:

• Teach the importance of loving God with all your heart and soul.
• Emphasize the significance of obeying God's commandments.
• Share stories of faith and obedience from the Israelites' journey.
• Encourage regular prayer and reflection on God's word.
• Model integrity and righteousness in daily life.
• Discuss the importance of community and helping others in need.

I PRAY ALL OUR DADS HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY AND KEEP THE FAITH IN SUCH AWAY THAT OUR CHILDREN CAN SEE.

Top of the morning to you, or evening whatever the case may be. I just want to give you a heads up concerning upcoming events taking place at Heritage this summer. It is hard to believe that we will celebrate the 250th Anniversary of America, in just four weeks.

When you think about it, we are just a baby nation compared to many other nations. If you ever travel to Europe, you will see buildings and landmarks that date back to and before the days that Jesus walked the shores of Galilee. I have actually visited the Coliseum in Rome where Christians died for their faith. They were fed to the lions and fought for their lives against Gladiators.

Have you ever thought about the word Gladiator, comes from Gladius which means sword, hence swordsman. The writer of Hebrews speaks of the believers double edged sword, taking a fresh look at this passage found in Hebrews 4:12, we can all be encouraged. "For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to the dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Think about it - I do my thinking out loud often when I am studying.

FOR THE WORD OF GOD - THE STUDY OF THE WORD OF GOD IS THE SECRET DISCIPLINE THAT HAS FORMED THE GREATEST OF CHARACTERS.

This is the day that the Lord has made, therefore I am rejoicing and being glad in it! I have a question for you to think about this week. If you are raised in the country, you may already know the answer. There is no doubt, you have heard the saying, "NEVER LOOK A GIFT HORSE IN THE MOUTH." Out of the clear blue this thought popped into my head this week and I realized some people, may know this saying but have no idea what it means, cowboys and horse people, all know what it means. You tell the age of a horse by looking at its teeth, so if you have a horse given to you don't embarrass yourself by looking in its mouth to see what you have been given.

With this on my mind the Holy Spirit prompted me to think of all the gifts the Father has lavished on His children. I have met people that have struggled believing God has freely given gifts to us. It is important to receive because we cannot give what we have not first received. I thought about what marvelous gifts God gives to us. The concept of God's gifts is a central theme throughout the Bible, reflecting the benevolent nature of God and His desire to bless humanity. These gifts are diverse, encompassing spiritual, physical, and eternal blessings bestowed upon individuals and communities. Let me remind you of some of the gifts God children tend to look in the horse's mouth, so to speak.

Paul speaks to this point but there are some who have a tendency to look in the horse's mouth. Paul provides a detailed discussion of these gifts in his letters. In 1 Corinthians 12:4-7, Paul writes, "There are different gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different ministries, but the same Lord. There are different ways of working, but the same God works all things in all people. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good." These gifts include wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, and interpretation of tongues.

In Acts 2:38 we find the gift of the Holy Ghost, and then in the Corinthian letter we are introduced to the gifts the Holy Ghost gives to us. I love to quote Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is Eternal Life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

I do not have time here to enumerate all the different gifts of God, there are so many. I was reading about, while spiritual gifts are paramount, the Bible also acknowledges material and temporal gifts from God. James 1:17 reminds believers, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." God provides for the physical needs of His people, blessing them with resources, talents, and opportunities.

It is important to remember, empty hands on empty heads will not produce peace, and the greatest gift is the one who is our Peace.

I was busy on Monday, Memorial Day 2026, but it was a good busy. Having been invited to the Memorial Day festivities by my ophthalmologist, who is the Mayor of Florence, to pray over the gathering to honor those who had paid the ultimate price of service of our nation. As I set there in a patriotic crowd of people, we all recognized the importance of this special day and could feel the freedom of it. While music was played by the Florence orchestra - dignitaries and several of our recognized politicians were acknowledged. A woman, highly decorated with military service of 28 years, was the speaker of the day. As she spoke, her love for her nation was evident, and the stories she shared spotlighted others Gold Star parents whose sons did not make it home from the battle front.

My thoughts were going back all the way to my infancy, and I shared those thoughts before I prayed the opening prayer. I remembered my early childhood, when Goldie (my Mother), was sent to Fordyce, Arkansas to work in a munitions plant. In World War II, everyone worked. My Dad was sent to the other side of the world, to a place called Burma. Then when I was four, my father came home and we met him at the Train Depot in Ft. Worth, Texas. My uncle Poncie, who was four years older than me, was strong enough to carry my father's duffle bag, but I was to small to carry it. I even remember being a little afraid of my father, even though I wanted his attention.

As I sat there on a beautiful day under the canopy of heaven, I realized that was my first patriotic moment. From that day on I made newspapers into Navy caps and would stand upon my father's foot locker and salute like I was a real swabby; an affectionate term used for sailors early on back in the day. These memories made Memorial Day to me.

I told them I had officiated the funerals of men from World War I, World War II, and preached the funerals of soldiers who had died of Agent Orange. As I prayed, I fought back tears, thinking about those who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms. As I type this message, I recalled how GayNell and I watched the body bags come back from the conflict in Vietnam. I was so stirred I went to the recruiters to join the Army. He asked me what my job was and I told him I was working with Drug addicts in the East End of Houston. He looked at me and tore my application up in front of my face. He said, "We need you more here than there." I have to be honest with myself, I was somewhat disappointed.

I thought about the trips I have traveled into other nations; from war torn nations to behind the Iron Curtain. I thought about the trip to Soweto in South Africa. It was an unforgettable day where even though we were in a military vehicle, we were attacked by about 2,000 angry rock throwing inhabitants of suppressed residents. I recalled how I was taken to Mandela's House, which is now a museum. My friend, known as The Prof, took me there. He had been a prisoner with Mandela for eight years. His story of freedom is legendary and told across the continent of Africa. I remember him taking me to a cross roads where there were 4 way stop signs, for it was there he recalled his decision to follow God where ever he took him. His first doctorate of ten, was in music. As he stood there at those cross-roads, a melody rose up in his spirit:

"SO I'LL FOLLOW, SO I'LL FOLLOW, I WILL FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST, I WILL FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST!!

SO I'LL FOLLOW, SO I'LL FOLLOW, I WILL FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST, I WILL FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST!!"

THIS IS THE ANTHEM SUNG ACROSS AFRICA, DURING THE COLLAPSE OF APARTHEID. BECAUSE ONLY CHRISTIANS KNEW THIS WAS WHERE YOU FIND TRUE FREEDOM, INDEED.

As I set there on that perfect day, for a celebration. I thought once again about the young son of a soldier that was attending the award ceremony of his father who had died in battle. It was in a gun battle. He had seen a comrade penned down an exposed to a sniper, without hesitation he stood and warned his friend and it was then he was shot and killed. During the award ceremony, this story was told to the great crowd who was in attendance. At the end of the festivities, the son of the fallen soldier went to the soldier whose life was spared by his father warning him of the danger. He asked him one searching question:

"SIR, WAS IT WORTH IT?"

"Was it worth it that my father sacrificed his life for yours?"

Let me ask you a question: "Was the sacrificed life of Jesus on the cross, giving his life for yours worth it?"

I was honored to be a part of this special day, as they sang songs of love for recounted events of history, and honored those who have made supreme sacrifices for freedom. My last thoughts of the day, were; LET FREEDOM REIGN !!!

Hello to our Spirit Filled Family, where on this coming Lord's Day we will celebrate PENTECOST SUNDAY.

What I celebrate, is what happened subsequent to what took place on the Day of Pentecost. It marks the moment when the followers of Jesus moved from fear to boldness. It marks the beginning of the spread of the Christian message.

Acts 1:8 is the given model for the advancement of the Kingdom of God and to the present day:
It shows that the mission of Jesus for Acts 2 is not just a record of an event. It explains how everything began and what the Lord continued, through His followers.

When I use the term subsequent to the Day of Pentecost, I would call your attention to Acts 8,10, &19 as reference to what I am writing. Take a look with me at Acts 19, to help you understand the word subsequent to:


What happened on Pentecost is recorded in Acts 2, and it marks one of the supernatural and important moments in Christianity. It is the day when the Holy Spirit came upon the followers of Jesus and changed everything. This happened just as Jesus said it would take place.

I have pieced together a few different translations of this event to help us understand how this all took place. It took place as the result of the disciples obedience and obedience is still key to receiving and becoming all that God has for us. Take a look at what Doctor Luke said in regard to what would happen subsequent to our obedience:


Can you imagine what the disciples were thinking as they were gathered together in the Upper Room? They were waiting just as Jesus had instructed them; the Bible says in "one mind and one place." Then suddenly, there was a sound like a rushing mighty wind. (On a personal note, I was speaking one week day morning in South Africa, when a mighty wind slammed the open doors of the sanctuary shut, the doors were eighteen foot tall and five foot wide. One of the pastors ran to see what was happening outside, and there was not a sign of the wind blowing the trees. They were as still as a sleeping baby.) It was a suddenly and the church was filled with the power and glory of God, many wonderful things took place subsequently.) It filled the entire place where they were sitting. What looked like tongues of fire appeared and rested on each of them.

They were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Immediately, they began to speak in different languages. This was not random speech. People from many nations were in Jerusalem at that time, and each one heard the disciples speaking in their own language. They were amazed and confused. Some wondered what it meant. Others mocked and dismissed it.

Then Peter stood up.

This is important. Peter, who had earlier denied Jesus, now spoke boldly. He explained that what they were witnessing was the fulfillment of prophecy. He spoke about Jesus, His death, and His resurrection. He called people to repent and believe.

The result was immediate.

About three thousand people accepted the message that day. This was not a slow beginning. It was a powerful start. To this I would call to mind Zechariah 4:10…

"The Seven eyes of God range about all over the earth," in other words, GOD DOESN'T MISS A THING and He was right in the middle of all this for without the Promise of the Father, the Promised Holy Spirit, there would be no Pentecost (Fifty Days After; Subsequent, to the Resurrection of Jesus and Ascent to the Fathers right hand, there to make intercession for us).

Join us on this Memorial Weekend, I will be asking, once again, "Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?"

I believe in you and I believe the Holy Ghost is for you today.

THE 17th OF MAY, 2026, IS A SPECIAL DAY IN THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. IT IS A MEMORABLE DAY DECREED BY PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.

A DAY OF THE RE-DEDICATION OF AMERICA BACK TO GOD.

I AM PRAYING THE SIX GOALS OF THE PREAMBLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

There are six goals of the Preamble of the Constitution of the United States of America. Each of the Preamble's six goals responded to a real problem the framers had lived through under the Articles of Confederation. They aren't vague aspirations; they're a diagnosis of what had gone wrong and a promise to fix it.

• Form a more perfect Union: Under the Articles, states acted as semi-independent nations, imposing tariffs on each other's goods and regularly refusing to fund the national government. "More perfect" didn't mean flawless. It meant better than the fractured system already in place.

• Establish Justice: The framers wanted a legal system that applied laws equally, placing the law above any individual, including government officials. This included a federal judiciary that could resolve disputes between states and between citizens of different states.

• Insure domestic Tranquility: This goal carried real urgency. The framers had watched Shays' Rebellion, a debtors' uprising in Massachusetts, expose the national government's powerlessness to restore order. The Federalist Papers cited fears of "domestic factions and insurrection" as a central argument for ratification.

• Provide for the common Defense: Rather than relying on each state to maintain its own military, the new government would build a unified national defense against foreign threats. The inability of the Confederation Congress to raise troops or fund defense had been one of the Articles' most dangerous failures.

• Promote the general Welfare: The government would serve the broad public interest rather than favoring particular individuals, factions, or regions. Worth noting: this same phrase appears in Article I, Section 8, where it actually carries legal weight as part of Congress's taxing and spending power. In the Preamble, it functions as a guiding principle, not a grant of authority.

• Secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity: "Posterity" was a deliberate word. The framers didn't just want freedom for their own generation; they embedded a forward-looking obligation into the Constitution's opening sentence, binding the government to protect liberty for every generation that followed.

WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY FOR AMERICA AND YOU CAN BE A PART!

Jacob, Swanson the Eleventh and I were on early morning radio in Cincinnati together, for several years. I learned a great deal of things from him that have helped me as a pastor, one of which was how to honor our MOTHER'S on Mother's Day. I was thinking of him as we approach Mother's Day 2026, here are a few special things others have said to memorialize the importance of our mother's:

• God couldn't be everywhere so he invented Mother's. - A Jewish Proverb
• The most beautiful word on the lips of mankind is the word "Mother."
• An ounce of Mother is worth a ton of priest. - A Spanish Proverb
• Motherhood - All love begins and ends there.

Thousands of people around the world have voted and "Mother" is the most beautiful word in the English language.

It may not be the most glamorous or fashionable word in the English language, but it represents an image of comfort and of home, heart and hearth. In its diminutive form it is often the first and sometimes the last word we utter in our lives. No one has ask me, but "Mother" has my vote as well, and I imagine yours also. A British Council survey of 40,000 people in 102 non-English-speaking countries has put the word at the top of a 70-strong list.

When Krista was just an infant we waited on pins and needles for her to come out of the surgery unit at Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was one in 10,000 children born with Infantile Glaucoma and her sight was a matter of concern. It seemed like we heard it was longer than it should have taken, but far down the hall from the waiting room we heard a raspy little voice cry out, "MOMMA!" It was Krista and you have never seen a mother sprint the hall of a hospital like GayNell did that afternoon. She jumped to her feet like every other mother would have done, to run to her baby's side. What Momma would have not tried to out run her to their child's side? It is just what a Momma does. It is something done, because God has put a piece of His nature in all mother's.

Momma's, we love you and are thankful for you. You are the influencers of the finest order. My mother, as I have often said, was my evangelist who lived a life that turned my heart toward God.

I believe in you.

Good Day and in Him we can say, in spite of what this day may bring our way, "This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it."

As you know I have been practicing what I preach and the last time I was in a Friday Night meeting, I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "PRAY FOR MORELIA", and I did. As I was thinking about what to write in this letter, I thought I would take you behind the scenes into one of my Bible studies for a message that has been on my mind and heart:

JESUS IS THE INCORRUPTIBLE SEED

• To understand "the incorruptible seed of the word of God," consider these key points:
• It refers to the enduring and unchanging nature of God's message.
• The term "seed" symbolizes potential and growth in spiritual life.
• It emphasizes the transformative power of scripture in believers' lives.
• This concept is rooted in biblical passages, particularly 1 Peter 1:23.
• It highlights the importance of faith and acceptance of God's word.
• The incorruptible seed contrasts with worldly, temporary values.

A question comes to mind, what is your foundation? This old song says it best; STANDING, STANDING, STANDING ON THE ROCK OF MY SALVATION, STANDING, STANDING, I'M STANDING ON THE WORD OF GOD.

1 PETER 1:22-24
²²Since you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth so that you have a genuine love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from a pure heart.
I AM IN GOOD STANDING
²³For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of IMPERISHABLE, through the Living and Enduring Word of God.
²⁴For, "All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and
NOT SAVED BY DEEDS OF THE FLESH.

Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God's SEED ABIDES IN HIM: he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. 1 John 3:9

WE HAVE GOT TO SEE THIS. GOD WANTS US TO SEE THIS. THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVES US REVELATION, FOR US TO UNDERSTAND THIS POWERFUL PRINCIPLE. IT IS A KINGDOM PRINCIPLE THERE FOR US TO LIVE ON!!!

IT IS A KINGDOM PRINCIPLE THERE FOR US TO FEED ON!!! IT IS (NOT) CORRUPTIBLE. IT IS INCORRUPTIBLE.

LET ME REINFORCE THIS:

GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM WOULD NOT PERISH BUT WOULD BE BORN AGAIN OF THE INCORRUPTIBLE SEED OF THE WORD OF GOD.

GOD SAID IT, I BELIEVE IT, AND THAT SETTLES IT.

Romans 1:3 tn Grk "born of the seed" (an idiom).

Romans 1:3 tn Grk "according to the flesh," indicating Jesus' earthly life, a reference to its weakness.

THIS PHRASE IMPLIES THAT JESUS WAS MORE THAN HUMAN; otherwise it would have been sufficient to say that he was a descendant of David, cf. L. Morris, Romans, 44.

Romans 1:4 sn Appointed the Son-of-God-in-power.

Most translations render the Greek participle ὁρισθέντος (horisthentos, from ὁρίζω, horizō) "declared" or "designated" in order to avoid the possible interpretation that Jesus was appointed the Son of God by the resurrection. However, the Greek term ὁρίζω is used eight times in the NT, and it always has the meaning "to determine, appoint." Paul is not saying that Jesus was appointed the "Son of God by the resurrection" but "Son-of-God-in-power by the resurrection," as indicated by the hyphenation. He was born in weakness in human flesh (with respect to the flesh, v. 3) and he was raised with power. This is similar to Matt 28:18 where Jesus told his disciples after the resurrection:

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me."

GO WITH ME NOW TO THIS WONDERFUL PASSAGE OF SCRIPTURE:

In the beginning was the Word (SEED), and the Word (SEED) was with God, and the Word (SEED) was God. The same (SEED) was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him (THE SEED); and without Him (THE SEED) was not any thing made that was made.

THE ENEMY IS A SEED SOWER:

1. I DON'T NEED THE CHURCH
2. I DON'T NEED TO GIVE TO OTHERS
3. I DON'T NEED OTHERS TO CORRECT ME OR SPEAK INTO MY LIFE
4. I REALLY DON'T NEED SUFFERING IN MY LIFE
5. I DON'T NEED TO TRUST LEADERS

THESE ARE JUST SOME OF THE THINGS I AM THINKING ABOUT AS I SUFFER AFTER SURGERY.

In closing and I am not even close to be through with these seed thoughts for a message I am working on. God planted a seed in our hearts, you may ask where?

Christ is born of God: and every one that loves Him that begat loves Him also that is begotten of Him." 1 John 5:1

How many of you remember Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood and his little song, which he wrote and used for the opening of his made for children television program? I can hear it in my head at 4:30 am,

“WOULD YOU BE MY? WOULD YOU BE MY? WON’T YOU BE MY NEIGHBOR?

In the opening scene of each episode there was a stop light which was stuck on YELLOW, it was there to remind children and parents to slow down a little. That is not a bad hidden message for all of us, even today. Mr. Rodgers fed fish on every episode and there was a reason for why he did this. A young blind child, who watched Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood and was part of all those who bought into the theme of the program wrote in and ask if the fish were ok? It was then Mr. Rodgers begin to loudly announce, he was feeding fish. Did you know I have been feeding fish for 65 years in hundreds of sermons, radio and television programs, social media releases and one on one times in sessions with those who just needed some one to talk with or a shoulder to cry on? Jesus made me a fisher of men. Mr. Rodgers actually was a Presbyterian minister and as such he was a brilliant communicator. I thank God for men like Fred Rodgers, he stooped to the interest of multiplied thousands of children.

Today, children are in the cross arrows of Hells irony. There is a battle for their souls and divided attention, for everyone it is our battle to protect and cover them.

God has given us weapons to use in the good fight of faith and just why do we call it a Good Fight? It is a Good Fight because it is a Fixed Fight, “WE WIN” and the Bible tells us so.

It is important to have a good concordance at your fingertips when you are studying the Bible. Early on in my journey of faith, I literally spent hour after hour with a Greek Lexicon, dictionaries, and a good Thompson Chain Reference Bible, in front of me. I even had one Bible that had 16 translations in it and it happened to be a thick paper back, which I nearly wore out.The rule of thumb back then, in regards to concordances was, Strong’s for the Strong, Cruden’s for the Crude and Young’s for the Young speaking of course for the major concordances of that day. I have to stop and remember, this 66 years ago.

My how things have changed, in todays world with the advancement of the information age, I have 66 translations available on my computer, my library gathers dust today, when at one time each tax season I could use the receipts for books I had purchased for ministry, as a deduction on my tax returns. Those who are computer savvy know what I am talking about. There are a long list of available programs, Bible students can use today but nothing will ever take the place of the hours I spent meditating, reading, re-reading, and researching for treasures in the Word of God. I have at my disposal thousands of helps through the advent of new technologies available to me now, which I did not have early on in my ministry. I can even fact check myself to see if I am saying something that may not be Kosher, in regard to something I am repeating from memory. This of course leads me to my mainstay, the Incorruptible Word of God.

We’ve traveled together through life’s rugged way

To travel without it I never would try;
We keep close together, my Bible and I.

In sorrow I’ve proved it my comfort and joy,
When weak my strong tower which nought can destroy;

And threaten to rob me of heaven and home,
God’s Word then directs me to Him in the sky;

When evil temptations are brought to my view,
And I in my weakness know not what to do,
On Christ as my strength I am taught to rely;

When life’s path is ended; if Jesus should come,
And take all his blood-purchased brethren home;
Or if, in long suffering, He waits till I die.
We’ll never be parted, my Bible and I.

And when in the glory my Lord I behold,
With all His redeemed gathered safe in the fold,
My Bible and I close companions will be,
For God’s Word abides for all eternity.

Back in the early 60’s a pastor in Bakersfield, California died one Sunday morning, as he was getting ready for the services he had prepared for during the week. He felt his heart was giving out on him so took a few steps back into his bedroom and grabbed hold of his Bible and knelt by his bed. When the E.M.S arrived they tried to remove his life companion from his hand but they could not because he had taken hold of it with a death grip. I want to be like that man of God, leaving this world holding on to the Word of God with a death grip. I would gladly say, “It is recommended.”

How would you define SELFLESSNESS? I asked this question on the computer and the first four answers that came up were interesting:

• Donating a kidney to a stranger in need of a transplant. WE HAVE AND EXAMPLE OF THIS IN OUR CONGREGATION.
• Serving in the military to protect the freedoms of others. WE HAVE AN EXAMPLE OF THAT IN THE VETERANS IN OUR CONGREGATION.
• Volunteering time and resources to help those affected by natural disasters. WHEN THE HURRICANES TORE THROUGH LOUISIANA AND MISSISSIPPI WE HAVE AN EXAMPLES OF THAT IN OUR CONGREGATION AND ALSO THERE ARE THOSE THAT WERE THERE IN MEXICO CITY THE DAY THAT THOUSANDS DIED IN 1986.
• Adopting and caring for children in foster care or orphanages. WE HAVE A FAMILY THAT HAS ADOPTED AND CARED FOR OVER 100 CHILDREN IN THEIR HOME OVER THE LAST 30 YEARS AND THEY STILL HAVE FOSTER CHILDREN IN THEIR HOME TODAY.

Not so long ago I told a story about a soldier who during war stood up to warn his comrade about enemy fire. As a result of warning the other man he was killed by a sniper. When his company returned home, he met the family of the man who lost his life by making himself a target to the enemy. He spoke with them after the award ceremony and the son of the man who gave his life for him asked him a searching question, "Mister, was it Worth It?"

Have you ever read Hebrews 1:9 in light of our message?

Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

What is the key to JOY?

My Father was a soldier. He was actually in the Army/Air Force, which were a branch of our military until higher powers saw a need for change and the Army became our ground troops. I began to think about the women I have served through the years and thought it would be a viable subject of consideration to share with you.

In 1967, GayNell moved to Uvalde, Texas to serve a church no one knew was there. It was a fairly new structure, a very pretty red building that had more bats in the belfry then we had people in the pews. One Sunday night they decided to join us, ladies were ducking their heads under the pews. Just imagine me with a mop swinging at their intrusion with the youth shouting, STRIKE ONE, … STRIKE 15. It is hard to hit a flying mammal with radar and the kids will never forget that riotous service. I am sure they laughed with their families all the way home that evening and still laugh about it today, when they think about it.

In 1967/1968, the population of Uvalde was 15,257. It was eighty miles from San Antonio and 80 miles from Del Rio, Texas on the border of Mexico. Thirty-eight miles from Uvalde, there was a small town called Camp Wood. I found out there was an empty church building that had not had services in it for 20 years. It was right smack-dab in the middle of town. In a few weeks, we approached the owner of the Hotel who was the custodian to the church and we started services on Thursday Evenings. The proprietor of the Hotel also was an old time Pentecostal Believer, and she was the caretaker of the church. I loved it and the people were the salt of the earth.

Now this was in 1967 and one of the men who came to worship with us had been a soldier in World War I. I remember the first time I saw him. He was tall and lean, wearing a pair of kaki's and a long sleeve dress shirt. He had some stories held away in the deafness of his life. It was in the teen years of the turning of the century. A violent influenza had swept across America, and as a result of this plague thousands died. It was after the war. Many were left with the aftermath of sicknesses. The proud soldier that was left deaf as a result of its impact on his life. It is hard to believe but when you think about it, WWI had only been fifty years before. He walked like a soldier; with his shoulders back, and his head held high. We communicated the best we could with him, talking with our hands and in his heart he had the scars of war.

In the early 60's I worked with many who had fought in World War II, these guys loved our country. One of them -- Jim, had stormed the beach at Normandy. Jim had glaucoma and he bore painful memories of those years and the thousands losing their lives around them.

I had cousins, an uncle, and neighbors that fought in WWI and WWII, along with some who fought in Korea and other lesser conflicts around the globe, fighting for democracy and freedom. My Uncle Gene Britt was taken as a prisoner of war in Germany and marched across Germany in the bitter cold of winter.

One of our friends would disappear from our jobs for a few weeks and you would wonder where he went, but when he came back to the job, he didn't talk. In confidence he would tell my uncle that he was a mercenary and had been down in South America fighting Communist influencers.

I had second twin cousins that had served in the military and they were men who had P.T.S.D. That is not what we called it back then, nobody did. We called it shell-shocked. I had friends that served in VIETNAM, in different aspects of the war. Some were pilots, others were nurses, but the broader scope in those days made us all feel like we owed something to the men and women who have served us.

When I read the Bible, I read it with these life experiences in mind, and as I do, I think about those in the present conflicts that are going on at this moment in real time in other time zones. It is real to me. As we pray for those in military service caught up in conflict in the middle East, I pray where I can almost feel the missiles flying overhead, hear the explosions, feel the buildings rattle, watch families hurrying to the safety of bomb shelters and hear the weeping of families who have lost loved ones.

May God teach us to pray, because when it seems the calendar of heaven is on it's toes in regards to the players who are on front page of the end-time gazette, we need an awakening to pray. History has a way of repeating itself.

A woman in Paris wrote in her diary years ago, "Nothing of significance happened in Paris today." In fact it was the very day they stormed the Bastille. When I learned how to type, I typed this line hundreds of times:

"Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country." "NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD MEN TO COME TO THE AID OF THEIR COUNTRY." Here we are again.

Larry Norman wrote these words below two and a half decades ago:


I was in the Atlanta Airport one afternoon on the way home from a ministry trip and the announcer came on the inner-com and announced the transfer of the remains of a fallen soldier in the very terminal and gate where I was waiting for my flight home. Everything stopped, I stood with people looking out the window when the widow and his family stood on the tarmac and received the body back to American soil. There was a forced reverence, a solemn respect for the price that had been paid on foreign soil. He was more than a body bag, more than a toe tag and more than just a number, he was an American hero and I for one have never forgotten them.

There was another battle another day, where the precious blood of Christ was shed. Some may ask what made His blood so precious?

• In the first place, God did not have blood. He said, "A spirit has not flesh and bone, as you see me have." But he made no reference to the blood, did he? Therefore because the blood was His, His blood was precious."

• Then His blood was precious because it was shed for us. I love the verse that earmarks its value. "This is the blood of the New Covenant, SHED FOR MANY." For His blood to be precious to us, it had to be shed for us. In the early church there were those who believed in his humanity but denied his deity and their were those who believed in His deity that denied his humanity. Do you realize that if He had not consented to His crucifixion, nobody would have been able to kill Him? He came to give His life a ransom for many. Oh Precious is that flow that washes, white as snow, no other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus.

• Finally, His blood is precious because of what it accomplished and is accomplishing. Have you ever stopped to meditate on his words, "Come ye after me and I will make you?" My friend He is still doing it, making mighty men out of reprobates.

Have you been watching the way in which God is reaching men on the 7 mountains of influence? A transformation is taking place in the hearts of men and women around the earth. I am reading on a daily basis how even in some cases, He is revealing Himself to people groups, "God is not willing that any man should perish but that all should come to repentance."

Always remember, "God watches over His Word to perform it".

HIS WORD IS CHASING ME TODAY AS WE MOVE FORWARD INTO TIME, AFTER THE RESURRECTION SEASON, 2026.
